Dwight before the back injury:wow:one of the biggest what ifs in Basketball. If only Dwight got some post moves, he would've been one of the all time greats.

He IS one of the greats lol. The things holding back Dwight are the fact that people in general seem to not like him or take him seriously, Kobe dissed him so there’s a huge portion of fans who shyt on Dwight just because of that, and he played, at this point, damn near half of his career as a role player. Plus the game and style of play basically changing DURING his career. Dwight is no worse than a top 15 all time center, and that is by far the deepest position in NBA history.

the revisionist history with Dwight is funny to me. he was constantly shytted on for his offensive shortcomings during his day. this is not to diminish what he was great at, but dudes offensive game was lacking, he isnt on the level of the great centers

I just finished listening to all the smoke w/ tmac and jamal crawford talking about how Dwight deserved top 75...he really was robbed...fukk the shortcomings, his resume speaks for itself...its dudes on there without half the accolades

he got convinced that he needed to be something more than what he was...but he was the centerpiece of a team that went to the finals...he didnt need all that other shyt....play god tier defense and finish at the rim on offense..he didnt need to be Hakeem or Shaq.

He still was a monster in his prime and deserved top 75

he was a great though... you dont have to have a complete game to be great

basketball is played by team build and style ... dwight with oversized wings and a good PG was perfect
if he didnt leave and fukk his career up and get hurt he would have had time to develop more

He was also arguably the best defender of his generation, and led a team to the Finals. :yeshrug: Past the super top tier of centers (Kareem, Moses, Shaq, Russell, Wilt, Hakeem), he’s in the next discussion, though likely the bottom of it (David, Ewing, Walton, etc). He’s in the lane with Parish, Embiid, Jokic, Alonzo, etc.
