No, they were mostly sold into slavery by other black Africans. Some of the slaves returned to their homelands, and brought with them Middle Eastern religion and customs.

But at no point in history have Arabs invaded Africa and conquered the natives. Arabs are notoriously poor fighters who wouldn't stand a chance of pulling that off. Even Europeans struggled to "handle confrontations" with Africans. They ultimately succeeded in their conquest, but they caught plenty hell in the process. It was certainly no cakewalk.

Arabs, on the other hand, have never conquered African lands.
