They were far and away the soundtrack to the 90s for the most part man. They were every where. All on the radio. In commercials. On tv. Sung the theme song for "All That" on Nickelodeon.

I rated them a 8. Their impact largely defined black culture in the 90s. I remember girls dressing like them in the overalls and boots with the colored undershirts. I miss the 90s

I didn't know this.
You can't underrate entertainment. They didn't have the best voices but they were the most entertaining by a country mile. You can argue they were the most entertaining group, male of female of the 90s.

I had the all that album back in the day
For me, the most enjoyable group of the 90s. Their music still is fun to listen too. They just made feel good music. You can't underrate that. Frankie Beverly and Maze is still selling out in the 2020s due to their ability to make the best feel good music of all time.
TLC made fun songs. There is a reason they won 56 out of 100 awards, still extremely popular and have most hits than most 90s artists till this day.

Sure I could take a point or 2 off for vocal ability. But T boz voice worked for the group. Same with Chilli. Three 4 or 5 star albums. I think fanmail is very underrated. When it comes to choreography, making hits, style, fashion, slow jams, fast jams, TLC has done it all. I can't give them a 9. I have to give them a 10. Are they a Boyz 2 men/Temptations/En Vogue type of 10 group? NO. But they were perfect for the r&B/hiphop crossover genre.

Bro read my post. I said the same thing. But their voices worked for them. A Stephanie Mills/Whitney type voice wouldn't work for this group. I made an exception and didn't judge them based on vocals.
