What kind of trade and why do you see it as good sign?

If they dump the pick that means they have the cap in mind. This would likely signal that some big signings are in the works. They could still take the pick and sign but I think it is a huge signal if they do dump. Just my opinion.

How do you figure that? The 26th pick will only net like $970k in rookie year salary and it offsets the $500k cap hold for being below 12 players on the roster. That means their first round pick would only cost them $500k extra against the cap than if they didn't draft a player. It's a very low price to pay for young talent. Their 2nd round pick is already accounted for on the cap when you consider the cap hold.

On top of that, they have to keep a first round pick this year because next year's Heat pick belongs to the Cavs. They could potentially draft for someone else and trade the rights away after, but that wouldn't make sense for cap space purposes.

I think the team is trying to draft 2 players that can contribute right away precisely because the picks are so cheap.

Moving Cole and/or Haslem is a bigger sign that big moves are in the works.

Simple solutions

Add Melo and grab some vets to surround the Big 4

Or grab a new PG, backup SG, and a C to surround the Big 3
I don't why you keep bringing this up. Melo isn't coming to Miami, breh. He is too expensive and the Heat management isn't trying to fall deeply in the luxurious tax penalties to pay Melo. :childplease: We don't need another scorer. We already have three scorers that can produce 20+ pts a night. What really need is a center and point guard.

We do need point guard help, however drafting someone just because Lebron likes them is something I don't like.

All I know is we better walk out of this draft with one of those Florida goons, either Patrick Young or Casey Prather. Really aint a fan of Napier for this team, or McDermott :scusthov:
I'm a fan a Napier i think he will be a solid PG. I like McDermott on the offensive side. But his defense tho. But i think thats just a rumor.

this kid really that nice?

whats his pros/cons?

They really trying to trade the little homie Cole World doe. :dwillhuh:

Who the fukk will be our back PG or starting PG at that?
I hope that doesnt mean Rio will be back. :beli:

Edit: Has anybody heard or read anymore about us trading for Shump? Also i wonder what it would have taken to get Chandler from the Knicks?

But are we still getting melo?

Yessir. The Big 3 opt out. That's $60 million free. That's almost all of your salary cap free. Sign Melo (- 13 or 14 mil) Sign Monroe or Gortat (-12 mill at most) You still have 30 million left AFTER signing Melo and Gortat or Monroe. You don't even have to use that to sign the Big 3 because they have bird rights. You have at least 15 to 20 mil to play with the sign the rest of your roster and resign the Big 3. The owner just has to be willing to pay. It's the Heat organization and I think they are more than willing to pay for a dynasty.
