Dwyane Wade on the doubt that he can still handle a bigger load: "I need it. I need it." Sees it as an energizing challenge.

When LeBron left, Wade quickly connected with Bosh overseas, to see where he stood. Bosh told Wade he'd decide in an hour.

Another thing: Wade took 2 years in part because he, like team, is looking at TV contract in '16. Trusts organization to do right by him.

Dwyane Wade clarified a few things 2day. Among them: he wasn't sent by Heat to Vegas to recruit LeBron back. It was a planned personal trip.

More on Wade

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade had a hunch.

When he and LeBron James shared a flight from Las Vegas last month, he could tell there was something different about his former teammate.

“Yeah, I went to sleep knowing,” Wade said Friday before his annual Fantasy Basketball Camp at the Westin Diplomat Hotel. “He called me the next day. But I knew then. Obviously he still had to say the final yay or nay, but I knew that nikka was gone. I could tell.”

Wade sounded upbeat about the possibility of moving forward. The team re-signed Chris Bosh and acquired free agents Luol Deng, Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger, with hopes of remaining a contender in the Eastern Conference.

“It was a different summer for us,” Wade said. “It’s no secret, obviously, it’s been a change in how we looked the last four years by losing LeBron to Cleveland. I think our ownership has done a great job so far of trying to not replace but recover from that. The only thing we do as a franchise and as players is we move forward.”

Peak physical condition will be needed with Wade expected to handle a larger role. He missed 28 games last season because of knee soreness. Without James, he will have far less opportunities for “rest” days. He knows the biggest question mark entering the season is if he can return to the Wade of old, the one who was yearly among the league’s top five players.

Wade would rather focus on more realistic goals.

“One thing I will tell them is I can’t go back five years,” Wade said. “I ain’t trying to go back five years. If we all could, we would, but that’s not likely … I really don’t know how it’s going to be. I’m used to something from the last four years, so until we get into training camp and the preseason games, you really don’t know how it’s going to be yet.”

Greg Cote: LeBron-Heat saga unfolds, and it’s stranger than first thought

I'm big fan of taking the high road in any situation. Riley and Micky have done just that. I hope the fans can too come Xmas day. No booing. No standing ovation. I always said the worst thing you can do to someone is ignore them. Just treat him like any other opponent.

Edit: fukk that give him a standing O at first just as a farewell but after that we're done and it's back to business as usual

Back when i was in shape (back in the my Army days) I used to jogg and do pushups with my girl (who was also in the military) but thats about it.
I also used to date a basketball player in college and she and I would play ball together.
I often go hiking with a female friend of mine (we used to date long time ago).
But thats about it. Other than those 3 mentioned above, the only workout im doing with a females one-on-one is between the sheets :shaq:

Glad D Wade is taking his diet regiment seriously ..anybody who's ever dieted for 12 +weeks will tell you its more a mental discipline type of thing to make sure you're eating and staying within whatever macros you're set up on ..if he doesnt like veggies then eat rice cakes or any type of beans, or anything high in fiber his nutritionist needs to just add variety to his diet he'll be alright..but the best thing about dieting is now hes seeing results so hes gonna stay on it and actually give him a mental boost ..hopefully that will transition over to his overall game and conditioning .. I'm excited to see what he looks like this year
