Fiz i understand he is a big part of the staff & is good with the players. But Howard im not sure how that is going to work out? :ld:

shyt go & find out then let me know. :smugfavre:

Meh, i think Spo just trying to be smarter then he actually is. I dont get why we needed new voices? If anything we need a new head coach. But i guess i should wait before make it something bigger.
Not really sure about Howard either. The whole organization seems to have some unwarrented fascination with him.

And I'll put in my application, can I use you as a reference?

The OG Juwan love affair dates back to 98 or whatever that was when Riley tried to snatch him and got blocked by Stern

These coaching changes are really interesting. Rothstein was the defensive architect and McAdoo was a respected voice. Good point brought up in an article I was reading yesterday however is that those two were Riley's guys that Spo just so happened to inherit on his staff, so now he's building with his guys.

Riley and Howard's relationship goes way back since 97 when we tried to sign him. Maybe there were things that went on behind the scenes after Stern cockblocked the deal that we didn't know about.

I think we need fresh minds in the organization. I hate to think it but in another 3-5 years i could see Riley stepping down. He's getting old. I hope Mickey has a plan to bring in someone else. I don't want a Jimmy Johnson-Dave Wandsted type transition unless the new GM is a sure thing.

All them guys are getting on in years , can be argued Spo's building the coaching core for the next 10 years. better 2 guys out and 2 guys in each year than 6 out and 6 in in one year.

Knowing them, the transition will be seamless. I have no doubt it'll be someone from within.

While he's loyal t a fault, I don't think Riley or Mickey will endorse Spoelstra as GM. They trust him as a coach (so do I) but after Beasley, they know better than to trust him for personnel moves

Remember Riley DID NOT want Beasley in that draft. I've been telling you guys over and over that Spoelstra and the coaching staff did all they could to persuade him to take Beasley. I remember the writers (either Ethan or Iran Winderman) mentioned that Spoelstra BEGGED Riley to not trade the pick and take Beasley while Askins (Keith Askins) was siding with Riley on staying away from Beasley. And look how that worked out. Our highest draft pick ever wasted on an immature drugee.

This is why when you bums yap about Spo hating Beasley i say damn right he should because he went to bat for Beasley to his boss and Beasley failed him by not only being a diva but also not being a tireless hard worker (the kind the organization take pride in). Nothing like putting your name and reputation an on the line in front of your boss and being let down. Beasley will forever be tied to SPo in that sense. You and cats like @Brief Keef can cry for Mike all you want but it's over. We're moving on from that saga

I actually like Beasley. It's the Beasley stans that annoy the fukk out of me the point where i start to somewhat hate him because of his stans.
Just like the Knicks and Jets. I have nothing against the franchise itself. But their fans are so annoying where i got to the point that i hate the franchise so much now that i enjoy watching them lose more than i enjoy my own team win.

He is a very good athlete. :ehh:
The problem with him is his work ethic tho. His mom told me how he used to skip practices and shyt. Since he tore his ACL he stop giving a fukk. So he got cut by the Suns. He tried with other teams but eventually got cut.

He has potential but that's only if he's willing to put in the work. But I'm sure our staff will keep this nikka motivated

And seriously, you never know about Spo being a coach/GM when Riles eventually steps down. I'm not saying it's going to happen but it is a possibility given how other established coaches are being given the GM responsibilities.

And let's not act like Riley didn't make any mistakes in the draft either. This is the same Riley who wanted to take Kaman over Wade years ago but had to be talked out of it. No one foresaw, how much of a bust Beasley ended up being. No one.

The Heat organization makes decisions as a team. So even if Spo does get the GM title, he won't be the one making all the choices.

Riley wanted Bosh in that draft but knew Toronto would take him and was looking for an alternate. He was not sold on Kaman at all and was leaning towards TJ Ford to replace Tim hardaway. He went to see Kaman workout and saw Wade at the other end of the court and was impressed with his defense. Remember when we drafter Wade most people in South Florida (myself included) didn't know much about him. Riley sold us on the "Athletic version of Gary Payton" when fans questioned the pick. Little did we know he'd be even better.

But I hear you on the screwing up drafts thing. I'm the one who always says Riley is horrible at drafting, period. I think you were the one pointing out Chalmers when i was saying he never had any draft pick outside of Wade that panned out. This is why i wish Micky would hire some of the Spurs scouting team to help Riley with drafts. I hate that we always waste late 1st nd 2nd round picks or either trade them because we know we aren't gonna do much with them

I've always been under the impression that Nick Arison would take over as team president. But maybe they'll let Riley tell them when he thinks he's done and they can let him lead the search for a replacement.

And I have no idea whether Spo would make a good GM, but I'd rather keep those jobs separated. Coaches should only run the organization when they have a clear vision and a track record of building talent, like SVG, and the jury is out on him. Even Doc is looking shaky in terms of personnel moves.
