A Chalmers/Cole backcourt can work for few spot minutes here and there. We've seen it work before but that was with our small ball lineup with Lebron at the 4. I can see it working again

Breh, that works because Lebron was either the dude running the offense or he was drawing the majority of defensive attention because most teams understood that most PFs can't match Bron from 12 FT out so any screen he set caused the defense to load up on that side of the court but Bosh was also able to draw out the other big man.

Bron has that Dirk effect where defenses simply key in on him, no matter what he's actually doing and teams just prefer to let Chalmers try something so he'd get easy points (Relatively open).

We don't have a cheat code anymore so I really hope we don't see Rio and Cole together...ever. Those two dudes are boneheads. Keep Rio with Wade and have Wade be primary ball handler. Our bench squad is just gonna have to be far more defensive and gritty. Cole/Ennis/Granger/Haslem/Bird (:scust:) and try to limit 3s and get buckets off of transition buckets and the like.

I really want Ennis to get a chance. He really seems like the brightest part of our future and I think that between Wade and Deng helping him, he can really be something great. If he works on those handles (By far, his weakest aspect), puts on a little muscle, and improves on his passing...we might have a secret weapon. :patrice:

I still hate Napier. A small scoring guard that can't score or pass? :scust:

The good thing is that we do have a LOT of high IQ players. Wade, Deng, McRoberts, and Bosh is about as intelligent a squad you can have. You even got guys like Granger and Haslem off the bench.

You really think he's going to be good?

I dont know how good he's going to be, but thats why I'm reserving judgement until I see him in training camp and on the floor during the regular season. Just looking at his collegiate track record I think he is going to be better than what Cole was as a rookie (for anyone who thinks that isnt saying much, Cole had his moments too his rookie year). Let's not write off a rookie with championship pedigree after a couple of weeks in the summer league.

Napier doesn't look NBA ready to me. He's small, not a great defender, his decision making and passing looked meh, and he seems to have a big problem getting his shot off against NBA talent.

I don't see any building potential with him.

I said going into the draft we could just sign DJ Augustin as a backup instead of drafting Napier. Sure he could surprise, but I doubt it

I just hope the coaching staff doesn't think the same as some of you. You have to have the patience to develop young players, not having that patience is how you lose players that eventually become a Patrick Beverly..how many of you would take him on this team right now?

Napier isn't gonna develop into a defensive juggernaut, a great finisher, and he's not even a good athlete. I watched a lot of UConn's games. His game is gonna struggle in the NBA level simply due to the caliber of athlete around.

He's a score first PG without NBA athleticism to be a score first threat. His passing isn't very precise or crisp for half court play, especially when being smothered which he will be because no one is afraid of him at the rim.

He's pretty much Lilliard with none of physical attributes or absurd shooting ability. Take away Lilliard's finishing ability, play above the rim, explosive first step, strong cuts, overall wuickness, and leaping ability plus make him smaller. That's Napier.

I'm just a bit bothered that we traded our whole draft for him. We could of done better. I dont think he will pan out but we will see though.
