I started doing those a few weeks ago because of Rich Piana.

That burn you get is a lot different than regular curls.

in my experience, people can't do pullups for one or more of the following reasons;
-too fat
-too weak
-poor grip strength
-poor core strength.

instead of just reverse curls, why not hit some farmers walks? that way you're hitting your grip, traps and core + glutes

What helped me was of course losing weight and I also included reverse pyramid training for it.

So I would do the pullups with a weighted belt and plate for my very 1st working set and then do BW pullups after.

Kept at it for a while, even if I could only do a few reps, but soon after as I was getting stronger from doing pulls with extra weight, when it came to BW pulls it felt so light.

Now I have a big thick back, that gets girls in the sack

Inverted rows and assisted pull up machine will help get you there. That high ass pull up bar in the squat rack. Leave that alone, try that lower one in the cable pulley station trainers use. And there's nothing wrong with constant tension reps too.
