What does any of that matter? My dad broke my Chronic CD, he was not playing rap around me, but I listened to it anyway and even made some rap... still turned out fine.

You are acting like there aren't criminals who don't listen to rap, or like black people didn't get caught up in crime and gangs before rap music. Rap was born out of the streets, not the other way around. Obviously rap is not the most positive influence, but acting like it's more influential than parents/environment is crazy. Plenty of productive people listen to rap

Look Im not going to go back and forth about this in this thread, RIP to the young dude, he had some real demons in his psyche but he deserved the time to make good on them and sort himself out.

My pops did the same, wouldn't let me listen to Too Short and warned me about the chronic and Snoop when they dropped too .

Fact of the matter is rap is not healthy for a damaged mind...but neither is anything in excess. We could be talking about candy and some damaged soul rotted his teeth out eating too many noworlaters...

Not making light of the situation, and I'm way past the age of knowing this dude, he clearly got issues. But keep the black and white blaming to the experts and just take care of yourself and watch those around you.
