Goatganda the pearl of Africa
Thornton and Neal could help for vet depth but we have a lot of young offensive players who need game time to develop but I like those two moves

Its mainly our fukking defense and we had the bread to sign Hamonic last summer but noo we were too cheap thikning our offense would win us games

Then Gardiner goes -5 and gets dust multiple times on the wing. Guy was a fukking pylon all game

should have kept dion :hubie:

People need to chill. Better teams have had more disappointing seasons but are allowed to stay the course because no one gives a fukk if they fail. :mjlol:

Dion is a bigger pylon than Gardiner :dahell: and he still has 3 more years at a 7M per year cap hit :whoa::merchant: It was a miracle the Leafs were even able to trade him.

it's year 2 for Matthews against Chara/Bergeron/Bruins :dahell: It's series like this that will make him/Leafs better. They shut Crosby down too, and Crosby's better than Matthews. Matthews is for sure better than Laine though, that's not even a question. Matthews never fully got his game back this year after being hurt tbh. 5 points in 6 games last year. :yeshrug:

Nylander was pathetic again.. even when playing against weak opposition, but he's a skilled Swede so people won't mention it :mjlol: At least he's an RFA now, and Lou will be able to penny pinch him. :mjlol:

I've hated Gardiner for years and low-key hate all those bums from that era.

JVR, Bozak, Polak, Komarov are all UFAs and will be gone. They have too many NHL ready forwards so they have the pieces to trade for D. They need a couple of pieces back there. They thought they could be like Pittsburgh, but Malkin and Crosby when they're on can be top 2 players in the world.

Zaitsev's first year of a 7 year contract was a disaster. They're blaming it on him getting sick and losing a lot of weight, they better be right. :mjlol: His contract and Matt Martin's (who can't even get in the lineup) are eyesores, but other than that the Leafs management have done a great job drafting and developing so far.

Disappointing ending, but the start of the series was a million times worse than the end. They're going to have a bunch of space to retool next year. Players are naturally aging out of their contracts with cheap players/prospects there to replace them. They have the pieces to make the trades they need to make. :ld:

Next year is the last year of Marner/Matthews on ELCs though, so they better get their ducks in a row.

Nylander, Matthews and Andersen cost us this series

fukk outta here andersen is the reason you scrubs even made it a long series

in game 7 even though he was swiss cheese he held up fine against rask

it was your defense that was QMJHL status - no puck possession, hanging andersen out to dry

leafs have kapanen, johnsson who proved their worth this year and both locked down a fulltime spot on the roster next year.

grundstrom, liljegren, ozhiganov and other near-NHL ready level prospects waiting in the wings who can play as soon as next year. They make JVR, Bozak,Komarov, Brown expendable.

Sign a free agents like neal or marchesseault

Marchessault signed a contract extension in January.

Its still funny to me Leafs went into the playoffs with this defense....They were ass ALL YEAR,they had a shot to make changes at the deadline.

This team has the pieces up front that a few tweaks on the blueline could made a major difference in this series and instead they said NAH were good :why:

2-3 competent defenseman would be the difference between losing again and going deep and they SAID these fans will pay for anything WERE GOOD...

You cant win with Gardiner,Polak,Zaitsev and Hainsey back there thats way too much liability...

Hainsey is a defensive defenseman who SUCKS in his own end how does he even have job in this league ???

DeBrusk....

Man, so glad Cloode is gone. Sweeney drafted well and Bruce actually plays young guys.

Bruins were always plodding even when they won in 2011.

Sweeney did his thing, I can't front. I thought he was a fool a few years ago but he clearly knew what he was doing. Bruins IMO won't go too far. Chara looking old and not the dominant force he once was. Rask is a good goalie but has a tendency to fall off every once in a while.

They might beat Tampa but would have to channel Chara from 2013.

Leafs need to get tougher. Their D is weak. Hard to really evaluate Anderson with that terrible D. He did let in some softies though. Need to address that in the offseason and get Mathews in the gym. Comes acrosss as passive. He's still young though so there's time.
