Its still funny to me Leafs went into the playoffs with this defense....They were ass ALL YEAR,they had a shot to make changes at the deadline.

This team has the pieces up front that a few tweaks on the blueline could made a major difference in this series and instead they said NAH were good :why:

2-3 competent defenseman would be the difference between losing again and going deep and they SAID these fans will pay for anything WERE GOOD...

You cant win with Gardiner,Polak,Zaitsev and Hainsey back there thats way too much liability...

Hainsey is a defensive defenseman who SUCKS in his own end how does he even have job in this league ???
Obviously thinking it's 1991 and they can score their way out of losses...
Sweeney did his thing, I can't front. I thought he was a fool a few years ago but he clearly knew what he was doing. Bruins IMO won't go too far. Chara looking old and not the dominant force he once was. Rask is a good goalie but has a tendency to fall off every once in a while.

They might beat Tampa but would have to channel Chara from 2013.

Leafs need to get tougher. Their D is weak. Hard to really evaluate Anderson with that terrible D. He did let in some softies though. Need to address that in the offseason and get Mathews in the gym. Comes acrosss as passive. He's still young though so there's time.
Luke Schenn would be nice right about now.

Yes you can evaluate he had a 896 save % he let in too ma ny softies thats not the defense that DeBrusk goal you have to stop...Hes a good regular season goalie who turns mediocre in the playoffs...Defense needs to be completely stripped down and rebuilt.

When a goalie has a bad D he tries to overcompensate. Anderson played pretty well with Anaheim in the playoffs and has played well in this series and last year. Save percentage wasn't good but it was a gotdamn shooting gallery from the Bruins.

Did he let some softies in? Yes. So did Rask. D needs to be better and so does he but I'd say he's the least of their worries.

Not hating but he was invisible in this series and its worth noting.

He's 20 years old, still very early in his career. He'll gain experience from this playoff run.

Wish I had him playing next to Tarasenko. Blues would be an instant cup contender.
