Even though I moved, I lived in Washington and the passion for the Caps is 2nd to none in DC. Not even for the Skins. That's the only team all of DC supports. Some nikkas still support the O's. Some nikkas like the Cowboys or other NFL teams, Some nikkas don't care for the Wiz. But everyone fukk with the Caps.

:whoa:
Hold up breh, let me first say I am loving this run the Caps are making it’s beautiful to watch. the city finally looks like it has a winner after all these years and everyone including me is on the bandwagon rooting for us to win. Let the Redskins get good again and we make it to the super bowl let alone win it the city would be turnt the f up:wow:. Yes the city has its cowboy fan population and some other mixture here and there but if the Redskins get there shyt together then breh it’s all you will hear. There won’t be 20k fans in China town there would be 100k easy. It’s mostly Cacs and nikkas like me that’s downtown now :russ:, if the skins win every damn body will be downtown Between the brehs and the cacs it will bring out every damn body. One day it will come back :blessed: I just hope I am alive to see it and I am only 35.:mjcry:

DC is a smaller city than Chicago too in terms of size.

It would be on Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House

Probably end the parade at freedom plaza.

I say that because that is only a 1.5 Miles. It could be a disaster, lol.

Fam, this is a winners town.

Caps aren’t a ride or die team but if they have a run of like 3 or 4 c’hips over the next 7 years, and the Slurs still take Ls, Caps would overtake them.

Same with the Wizards. The only reason the Slurs are as popular is due to them going on that run in the 80s. The Bullets were the top team before that.

Don't forget about the Nationals. I think they're the #2 or 3 team in the area now, ahead of the Redskins. If the Nats follow up the Caps and win the World Series, the Wizards and Skins will be left in the dust. The Skins are at an impasse when it comes to relevancy in this area. People coming in from different areas (expats), will gravitate quicker towards a hockey/baseball team then they will an NFL team (add in the name controversy, and this is even more true). If you came from California, or Texas, or Nebraska, what team will you adopt when you move to this area? It's probably going to be a Hockey team first, then a baseball team. That's why it's much harder to gin up fan support for the Skins when they have 30-40% opposing team fans every week. Those new residents aren't going to adopt the Skins as their new home team, like they would the Caps or Nats. You wouldn't believe how many people I know who have moved to this area that have become Caps fans over the last 5-10 years, but still rep the Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Packers, Steelers, 49ers, Raiders, etc.

Just to follow up on what I said, their was a study released that had the Redskins 2nd in their OWN region as far as merchandise sales, behind the God Damn Eagles! Their were more Carson Wentz jerseys sold in the DMV region then Kirk Cousins jerseys. I barely see people with Skins jerseys and decals anymore, but I see Caps/Nats decals, jerseys, hats, etc EVERYWHERE I go around town, and in NOVA. I even see more Wizards gear now than Skins gear. I really think the Redskins have either lost, or are in the grips of losing their fan base within the next 10 years. It isn't cool to be a Skins fan anymore.

When they move to Warrenton or wherever, I bet a lot of people stop rooting for them

The Real Titletown
I don't live in D.C., but I'd have to imagine the parade would be massive.

For those that watch multiple of the major U.S. sports, I think Ovechkin might be the athlete t hay most people would love to see win a championship. It's impssobile not to like him.
