Thats BS breh the Redskins following is at least 5 times the Caps easy. Like I said before the city is rallying behind the Caps as it should because we need a winner it’s been way to long brehs.
Census goes something like this Redskins>>>>>>>>>Nationals>Caps>>Wizards.
It's been happening for the last 5-10 years. The Redskins are becoming irrelevant in their own market. Other teams are like the Steelers/Eagles/Cowboys are just as, if not more popular than the Skins these days. I really don't think you understand the changing demographics of this area. Out-of-towners who come here and relocate want NOTHING to do with the Redskins. Meanwhile, they're all down for rooting for the successful hockey/baseball teams. Fed-Ex Field 10 years ago used to be the 2nd largest capacity stadium in the NFL at 92K. It now hold 75K max, and they might take more seats down, due to lack of season ticket holders. My brother worked for the Skins as an intern last year, and he told me that they're losing season ticket holders like crazy. He worked sales, and he got laughs, and yeah rights when he called potential clients about buying suites/season ticket packages.
If you have the most despised owner in the NFL, a losing team year in and year out, and a team that plays all the way out in Landover where its impossible to not deal with traffic on gameday, how would you attract new fans? Unless they start winning and getting to conference championship games, or Super Bowls, they'll continue to erode fans like the plague.
I heard through the grapevine from my brother that the Skins are going to announce a new stadium location before the start of this upcoming season. If they were smart, they should be locating back to the city, ASAP. Part of the reason they're irrelevant right now, is because they play out in suburban Maryland, where as the Caps/Nats/Wiz all play downtown, with shytloads of bars and restaurants to go to before & after games. If they moved back to DC, maybe they might start to recover. People are willing to go to Caps/Nats/Wiz games on the regular (me included), while they won't dare go out to Fed-Ex field, and waste 9 hours of your day commuting, paying high prices for parking and food, and worst of all, watching a losing product.
