ESPN magazine cover and feature story after the loss(nothing for Holm), guest host on SNL, she got one of the SI swimsuit covers, doing the talk show rounds, and now I just seen her in a new ad for Budweiser. How in the hell is she still getting this push after getting dominated by an undefeated MMA fighter and former title holding boxer? I wasn't expecting her to completely fall off the map but it seems like she is getting pushed just the same as before the L.

because Ronda Rousey is nothing more than a UFC and media created, propaganda hype machine. the whole "girl power / women can do anything better than men" movement has never been hotter right now and the UFC saw an opportunity to invest and capitalize on that agenda by choosing her to be their poster girl. it had next to nothing to do with talent and more to do with Rousey's attitude and look.

if it were just about talent than Holly Holm should have been their poster girl from the start. after all, their MMA records were nearly the same at the time of the fight (Rousey 12-0 / Holm 9-0), but Holm had a 12 year boxing career that consisted of an impressive overall record of 33-2. yet that was rarely mentioned and instead all we heard was "Rousey is GOAT at 12-0".

one would think that after the beat down that Holm would (and SHOULD) be their poster girl right now and the one hosting SNL, however the UFC is still pushing Rousey and that's likely because they invested so much time and money into creating her hype to begin with.

Ehh being that I'm not a fan of MMA I don't have any hatred of her, I never had to sit through her antics or shyt talk. All I know is she has a family history of suicide. Based on that alone, hearing her say what she said is sobering and not something I can laugh at or even go to any kind of sports related comment with.

I really like how Holly dealt with it though, she's a solid ass broad, in more ways than one
