I don't think it's so much about hating. I think some are pointing out that this situation reinforces the message that in order for a man to be attractive and respected he has to be one who lives an unsavory life and how women claiming they want decent upstanding men is bullshyt.

lol Some of you can't seem to grasp women finding someone sexually attractive and that being it. Its like men lose their minds when the exact same standards they apply to women are applied to them.

None of you would bat an eyelid if a bunch of men saw a picture of a pretty girl in a prison jump suit and started salivating over her physical appearance despite that. Men do that every day for women of unsavory character in fact. But when a woman does it, its WWIII, and you want to analyze why she isn't salivating over (what you deem to be) a better guy for her. Maybe she is salivating over him too, but that will never take away from the fact that this guy is fine. No one is talking about choosing him over a good guy without a criminal record, but he's still physically attractive regardless.

I think the moral of the thread is that women, particularly Black women will overlook a man's criminal behavior as long as he's "fine/sexy" etc. and take things further than it needs to go. I don't fully agree with this, but there is evidence out there.

The difference between men and women in these situations is 'consequence'. A man can get involved with a 'bad girl', and trick on her, bail her out, go through drama etc., but the most he would do is hurt himself. Women on the other hand that get involved with a 'bad boy', and can get knocked up (and start the cycle of single motherhood drama), get physically or emotionally abused, or get caught up in his crimes as an unwitting accomplice...all of that hurts her and the community at large.
