Universal coverage sure as hell doesn't mean better. With the amount of people living in this country there needs to be competition. The USSR didn't exactly work out now did it.
Was there not competition Pre-Affordable Care Act? Is there no competition for insurance companies now?
Aren't you asking for single payer?
I asked what alternatives do conservatives/critics of ACA have to fix the healthcare system in this country that would help us yield better results than countries that offer universal health coverage.

But Chris. B said that Obamacare was prof of liberals trying to make "feel good policies" and I just corrected him by saying this particular feel good policy was stolen from an idea of a conservative.
Liberals were originally advocating for Single-Payer but they felt Obamacare would initially lead the way for that.

If Obamacare was left to live or die on its on merits rather than being force fed, i'd roll my eyes but wouldn't bytch, because participation would be voluntary.
