The logic of ObamaCare: the third party payment system in America has led to increased prices in medicine such that resources are artificially scarce and medicine is comparatively difficult to access, so therefore, we should expand that system.
It's posts like this that make it very hard to take you seriously. I "get" that you're conservative/libertarian/whatever, but this is straight up troll ball bullshyt.
The ACA is quite a simple law, based on a simple idea: private insurance is expensive. In order reduce costs it offers subsidies to help people purchase private insurance on a marketplace where insurance companies can compete for customers.
It ends various discriminating practices by insurances companies such as overcharging women or denying insurance for pre-existing conditions by essentially pooling costs amongst large groups of people. Young people become a subsidy to ensure this work: the more young people sign up, the lower prices can be for older sicker people.
It's nearly the exact same law REPUBLICANS floated in opposition to Hillarycare in the 90s. It's very similar to Romneycare, which is currently working very well in MA. The law is based on a mixture of conservative and liberal theories on cost control. It isn't perfect but so far it seems to be working. Premiums are surprisingly low in 48 of 50 states.
There are plenty of ways to criticize the law. For instance I think the employer mandate is a BAD idea. That being said this is the best law that has been passed in a long time, and will completely change the US. More importantly it WILL lead to a complete single payer system. Which ultimately is the best thing. It's the ultimate trojan horse.
