SOHH, Eminem's Kamikaze is a year old...how did it hold up?

One thing I knew this album was getting a lot of attention when it dropped was when I was shopping in a dollar store and they were bumping that Fall joint. Was random but this album spread like wildfire.

Not in the least. 10 years would date back to 2009, and there's a ton of black rappers I'd rather listen to than Eminem from that same period. You can have all the lyrical skill you want, but it's all for not if you can't actually make legit good sounding songs.

It was a good album. Solid, 3.5/5. He did a lot of things right. Kept it short, he rapped, had some good tracks etc.

I think he really lost his way once he drifted away from Dr. Dre, toward Rick Rubin. The combo of Em/Rubin seemed right in theory, but its a mismatch. Em, needs to link back up with Dr. Dre, or find another producer he can establish some sort of chemistry with. I'd be ok if he linked up with Just Blaze again, DJ Khalil (although I wish he would give Em stuff similar what he was making when he was in Self-Scientific), etc.
