It's just not the type of music me or anyone I kick it with listen to, I would get sideways looks and called a weirdo if I played that shyt in the whip just being honest. This the shyt we listen to

:ohhh::snoop:

if not for puba's crew and the artist he wrote for.
you would not know shyt about having a fly whip of your own.
as real talk,...
some of the first imagery of rappers with cars.
is all from puba's artist he ghostwrote for, too.
not to mention,...
that video was the first to show how to stunt in matching whips, too.

so, what the fukk are you talembout....
you are a fukkin' clown, breh..

all the shyt you wanna do was pioneered and made relevant damn near by puba.
all the gear or trying to do anything this wack nikka you listen to does in this vid.

got its start from what puba's crew that he was the ghostwriter was on.
none of these nikkaz, you like have bangers or records on par with anything puba was related to, fool.

Aiight, now this thread is getting ridiculous :snoop: Old heads in here calling all posters who don't fukk with Brand Nubian, or other afrocentric groups that were most likely out well before a lot of posters time cacs and shyt, talking about bans :why: If people seriously start banning cats for their opinions or taste in music, this forum would fall off real quick. I, myself, have never listened to Brand Nubian due to the fact that I was a young child when they were out. I probably wouldn't care to now either. I know some people are trolling and saying disrespectful shyt, but let's not make generalizing statements bout folks simply because they don't listen to shyt that doesn't appeal to em. There isn't some holy prerequisite list of things one should have listened to so they can be a hip hop fan...what, do you want cats to fake the funk and act like they like shyt that was out when they were toddlers or some shyt? :wtf: Stop it brehs. You're being sanctimonious and pretentious as shyt.

if you are apart of this culture.
you have to seek knowledge of self.
so, brand Nubian, all for one...is required listening, period.
there is no way around it,......

this is hiphop.
you have to expertly know this culture to be apart of it.

Not saying that people can't enjoy shyt well before their time, I'm saying that there's quite a few out there who don't simply because it either doesn't appeal to them or they simply don't relate. Can't hold it against them.....different strokes:manny:

that is like being a rasta and not knowing roots reggae.
there is no way to be apart of hiphop for real, and not know this culture and its entire history.
that goes for all the mores/norms, history, social interaction, the pillars, music etc.
if you don't know that,...
you are not apart of hiphop.
you are just a rap fan at best........

I loved the first Brand Nubian album when I was younger, but that doesn't mean Lord Jamar's opinion today matters. He's been talking this kind of shyt for years and Hip-Hop stopped listening a while back.

People dissing Brand Nubian and the foundations of where this culture started and elevated shows me that in 10 yr.s HipHop may be all Mac Millers and Macklemores and black folks gonna get a pat on the back and paragraph in the history books. 1. While there are chapters on these others........Don't believe me just watch Nikka nikka nikka........LOL

A few things.

- Lord Jamar is interesting, not just for being outspoken, but because he's captivating.
- I don't consider him a legend, I like him more for being Supreme Allah actually.
- The shame here is the one in the wrong is Yelawolf, one of the only white rappers I can tolerate, because he's authentic.I wish this was Macklemore getting the backlash.
