Charlotte Hornets head coach Steve Clifford didn't sugarcoat the reason for his team's struggles halfway through the season.
He said the Hornets are lacking talent, which leaves them with very little room for error in practice and games.

"One thing about the NBA player, if you want him to listen to you, you have to tell him the truth," Clifford told reporters. "So I tell them, they know there's little room for error. I also tell them the facts. Our problems aren't their effort, their work, how much they wanna win. Our problem is that we're undertalented."

Hilarious franchise, man

They were progressing every year under james borrego. even won like 43 games in 2022 and had a top 10 offense. Then they fired borrego and tried to tank for wemby, failed to get him and are going full and are rebuilding for the second time in about 4 years since trading kemba. Now they're back at square one, losing games left and right and moving toward nothing

he had lamelo coming off the bench and adjusted and then had him starting. It's not like he was a bench player all season.

Also i'm not saying Borrego was an excellent coach, but when you are mired in mediocrity for years, and get a coach that progresses every year, you shouldn't fire him....just to hire him and start yet ANOTHER rebuild. they traded terry and now Hayward and Bridges are in trade talks now also. They're back and square one, directionless

borrego was a part of the mediocrity. you make it sound like we should've let him push the team to another play-in blowout to complete the trilogy.

also all of the discipline issues built up during *his* tenure. on top of that, he spent the whole time complaining about a lack of size just to push pj washington as a small ball center at the complete detriment of nick richards - who's turned his entire career around completely since then. charlotte didn't even tank last year, they had more players missing games due to injury than every other team but portland lol

the direction is clear right now - trade who you can and open up salary. the team had its starting 5 for not even 10 games this year :dead:
Man can you imagine being a player on that team and your coach is telling everyone you’re not talented enough to win at this level? :mjlol: Even if you try really hard it won’t be enough :bryan:
leaky black already got his one shining moment :laff: its over
