The Iman Shumpert talk would be non-existent if this team were actually good & didn't require much of him. He's a glorified Ronnie Brewer in his prime on the Jazz. Who expected anything of him on offense in those days?

Wherever he's ranked on the totem pole doesn't mean the fact that he sucks on offense isn't a huge problem. He's not stopping anybody AND his mistakes on defense are costing the team games. Before fouling Paul George at the end of regulation, he had 2 open court opportunities that he let get chased down and blocked because he's shook. The 1 he let PG run down should've been an easy dunk. He makes that play, his bonehead foul at the end of the game isn't as bad because it's a 2 possession game. Is he the main problem? No. Is he a problem? Yes. But I was 1 of the people hoping he'd be a "Problem" for us this year in a good way. I see he's not that dude. Oh well. Flip him while you can in my book before he's Ronnie Brewer 2.0 status around the league. As far as what's totally wrong with the Knicks, I saw this on Realgm and I think it's dead on:

Offensively he's been pretty much the same player that he was last year. He's not the reason why the team looks so terrible on that end now.

Defensively, despite the drop in effectiveness, the team defense is still noticeably better when he's on the court.

It seems like your beef is more that he hasn't taken that next leap in improvement rather than him actually being a hindrance.

Shump got his issues breh but his defense isnt something you should be worrying about, he forced PG to 17 points on 16 shots...which we kill melo about all the time. After "the foul" woodson thought it would be a good idea to bench Shump and let JR "defend" PG....

Shump might have let the game go into overtime but benching shump put the nail in the coffin

:lolbron: mad disrespectful with the Ronnie brewer remark breh, but I know if you put the kid in a good offensive system and little room to grow you will be singing a different toon. Shump came into the league with a broke jumper and now is our best 3 pointer shooter..who should be getting at least 4 good looks at 3s a game

Knicks used to be dangerous because of their 3pt shooting. What's happened to that?

It's still there...it just seems to go away during periods where that's all they seem to want to do. Knicks won the three point battle tonight, but mostly because they were hitting them in the first half. When they should've been driving to the basket, they were still shooting them and missing tonight.

Yup. Shumpert is Ronnie Brewer with better hops and a cooler haircut. Got extra hype cause he has personality off the court. He's a good rotation player but dude is not a quality starter at the 2, sorry that's the simple truth.

This hits the nail on the head. That's the only reason nikkas are riding so hard for this derelict. If he was a quiet, non rapping Landry Fields ass nikka these dudes would be burning him at the stake.

Again I hate the fact that we never develop players. We are not finals bound. U can't assemble a championship ship team though trades. Miami drafted wade. Spurs Duncan and Parker. Mavericks dirk. Why not have a 5 year plan.?

I've been asking this since 2000. The knicks are victims of being popular. They have to have big named marquee players. That's the only way I could rationalize it.
