Start this man. Throw Beno in the bushes.

missing from this clip was the flagrant foul he committed at the end of the gamem

I want him to get more minutes but he hasn't completely outplayed Beno in the minutes he's played yet. If anything their about even with Beno winning out slightly offensively and Murry winning slightly defensively

advocating? Not at all sir...I've BEEN saying Woodson needs to play Toure Murry off the strength of his summer league play. The kid deserves more minutes and a shot to prove that he's a better point guard option than Beno. Beno has played well with increased minutes too, the thing with him is he's not a starter and he can't defend. I'm not sure Toure is a starter either though but with Pablo and Felton out he should be getting more of a shot to prove his worth than he's been given.

This call to start him though is premature. Dude took advantage of his minutes and ended up with 11 and 6. Cool...Beno had 15 and 10 the night before. I say, split the minutes evenly and whoever plays better more often should get the start (and all the minutes once Pablo & Felton come back)

Who's gonna make a bigger impact on the defensive end? :comeon:

I don't give a shyt if Beno drops 20/10 if he can't stop his man in front of him.

Toure Murry hasn't exactly been able to keep his man in front of him every time either. Granted he's been better than Beno for sure, but he hasn't been as good as I hoped. Besides, that doesn't matter if the team plays better defensively as a whole

Source: Knicks re-signing Tyler likely means waiving Chris Smith

As the Knicks negotiate a deal to re-sign big man Jeremy Tyler and have him for Monday’s practice, the team is expected to release point guard Chris Smith to make room on the 15-man roster, according to an NBA source.

The Knicks likely will announce the Tyler signing Monday. Smith was kept as the 15th man over the rehabbing Tyler during training camp in a controversial maneuver. Most NBA scouts consider Smith a D-League player and coach Mike Woodson admitted his brother J.R. Smith’s presence on the Knicks’ roster was a factor.

The Knicks decided they can’t afford to release point guard Tour’e Murry because Raymond Felton has shown to be injury-prone and is still out of the lineup. Plus, Murry, now in the rotation as backup PG, is considered part of the future.

The other option would have been to cut center Cole Aldrich, but the Knicks need him for front-court depth, as Kenyon Martin and Amar’e Stoudemire have struggled with injuries.

Chris Smith was playing with the Knicks’ D-League affiliate Erie until two weeks ago when the Knicks promoted him because of their point-guard crisis. Smith has already pocketed his $472,000 guarantee and they can still monitor him in Erie as an NBA free agent.

“I think it’s going to be [Smith],’’ a person familiar with the Knicks thinking said. “That’s been the plan.”

The only concern was whether the NBA would frown on the maneuver because of the way Chris Smith’s contract was structured, and rumors he was kept as part of a package deal with J.R., who was a free agent last summer before re-signing with the Knicks. The brothers share the same agent, C.A.A.’s Leon Rose.

However, a league source told The Post Sunday waiving Chris Smith would not be an issue. Last month the league had internal discussions about the matter, but felt he was enough of a prospect.

The Post reported Sunday signing Tyler was imminent, but the Knicks were discussing whether to wait until Jan. 5, when 10-day contracts can be issued. But with the upcoming three-game road trip to Texas, the Knicks decided they need him now. Tyler averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds is six D-League games.

the Shumpert-Faried trade was turned down from Denver firstly, secondly Faried does nothing to make this team better. He doesn't defend and doesn't score outside of the paint...we have Chandler, Bargnani and Stoudemire already crowding the paint and you wanna add another forward? :beli:

Faried is a high energy rebounder. Hell fukkin yeah he makes this team better in place of Shumpert. He's a PF. He doesn't need to score outside the paint. That's what you have Bargnani for. LOL @ Bargnani crowding the paint. :stopitslime: Faried can finish and most importantly.....most most most importantly.....he would get the Knicks 2nd chance points and posessions. NY stays getting killed on the boards. Murdered. How many offensive putbacks against us could've been potential Faried rebounds? Nobody on this team defends, so he can't be any worse than what's here. And whether you know it or not...defensive rebounding is a form of defense! He would take no space away from Chandler or Amare in the paint. Chandler NEVER sets up on the low blocks and Amare can go low block, high post, and face up, so what are you saying? What I wanna add is a better player. Chumpert does nothing good. His stans can't even play the 'Good Defense' card anymore. How you a good defender and you're in foul trouble every game? Like we couldn't have used Faried when Chandler was out all that time and Stat & Kenyon were on minute restrictions. :beli:
And I'm still :dead: @ he'd be crowding the paint for Chandler & Bargs. One guy lives on the perimeter the other only scores off putbacks and alley oops. SMH.

At This Point What Good Is Making Trades To Make THIS Team Better? This Team Aint Doing shyt :heh:

Any Trade Made Better Focus On The Near Future, Making A Trade To Make This Team Better Would Be Mistake, Especially If That Trade Effects Anything Beyond This Season Negatively

I thought that they weren't going to make any personnel moves...if Chris smith is released im sure a trade can happen.

Zoe, relax nikka. Damn. :dwillhuh:

I don't know why I read that in a yell.

But in a way, I agree with you now. I am a Shump Stan. I really wanted him to elevate his game, but I just don't know what is going on w/ our guard play right now.

If we try to make a move for Faried, it seems like we would also need to make a move for Lowry. Felton has fallen of considerably. He isn't setting players up like he used to anymore and Lowry at least seems like he'll have heart and be a serviceable floor general.

A straight up Shump for Faried trade would be nice. Now if we step our feet into that rabbit hole I would continue to make this move...

Felton/Metta & a draft pick(I know, I know) for Lowry.

Our team would look like this -

PG- Lowry, Prigs, Murry, Udrih
SG - JR:beli:, THJR
SF - Melo & :ld:
PF - Bargnani, Stat, K. Mart
C - Chandler, J. Tyler, Cole Aldrich

BUt who would be playing the Small Forward spot off the bench? I really hate small ball. Maybe try to move Cole Aldrich & Udrih for a serviceable role player?

I hate that it had to come to this for me. :snoop:

:ohhh: :ehh: :ld:

Ok...I mighta been a lil disturbed...but nah you shouldnt have read that in a yell lol. These new school nikkas just have me effed up when they discredit 4's for not being outside shooters. It disturbs me when people think they know basketball, but don't see the value in a player that can create 2nd opportunities. "B-b-b-b-but he he he don't defend". What he does do offsets that...big time. Moreso than Amare and Bargnani do.
