lets hope soSTAT been torching Bosh for years. If it was not for the knee issues from last season, STAT would still be considered better imo. They are pretty much the same player, Amare is much better at rolling to the basket, their mid range jumpers were similar a few years ago (STAT gotta get that back) and Bosh is a better defensive player. I cant wait til Amare is back to 30+ minutes so I can shyt on all the NY fans hating on dude. I bet anybody anything that STAT shoots himself back into the top PF category. Dude is not old, and dude still has a lot of athleticism, add a very good and improving post up game and I see dude shocking the world once given his role back.
stat always been one of my favs. I knew he wasn't done. Glad woody is finally giving him minutes

Cause we all know Woodson would never bench JR

‘Misunderstood’ J.R. Smith unsure if he will play when Knicks take on 76ers

J.R. Smith lands on the bench after his foolish behavior in recent games.
PHILADELPHIA – The J.R. Smith saga has resoundingly been trumped by the news of Alex Rodriguez’s season-long PED suspension, but the ostracized Knicks guard said Saturday that he was unsure if he’d be benched for a second consecutive game against the Sixers.
Smith, who didn’t play at all in Thursday’s win over Miami, said he spoke Friday with Mike Woodson about his status on the team. But the reigning Sixth Man of the Year still didn’t seem to get why he’s been singled out, saying he’s “been misunderstood (his) whole life” and he’s “extremely surprised” by the backlash he’s faced in recent days.
“I don't know. It's not my decision,” Smith said after the Knicks’ morning shootaround at Temple. “I see it as frustrating and a distraction to our team. A distraction to what we're trying to do. I’m not pleased with it.”
Smith infuriated owner James Dolan and Knick brass by suggesting he was “betrayed” when his brother Chris was released last month, and Woodson ripped him after he was fined $50,000 on Wednesday by the NBA for twice attempting to untie an opponent’s shoelace during consecutive games earlier in the week.
Woodson hasn’t publicly explained his thinking on the situation since calling Smith’s behavior “unprofessional” and “unacceptable,” Wednesday in an ESPN radio interview, adding that Smith needs to “grow up.”
“He's been telling me (to grow up) since I got here. Honestly, growing up, I don't know if I really understand the true meaning of it,” Smith said. “I’ve been misunderstood my whole life. It's not going to change now.”
Woodson insisted more than once Saturday morning that he’s “not talking about JR and his situation,” leaving open the possibility that Smith will not play for a second straight game.

“I understand, but again, it’s about our team,” Woodson said. “I understand your question is powerful, but I’m just not addressing anything with J.R. I’m not going to do that. I’m not."
Smith reiterated that he was “joking” when he reached for the shoelace of Detroit’s Greg Monroe on Tuesday night, one day after NBA President of Basketball Operations Rod Thorn had warned him for untying Dallas forward Shawn Marion’s sneaker one game earlier. Deadspin also posted a photo of Smith mockingly reaching for a fan’s shoelace at a Manhattan nightclub following his Thursday benching.
“I see both sides of it, because I really don't have a choice but to see it,” Smith said. “Honestly, I’ve been doing it for four-five years and I've only seen it from a joking side. And it is what it is. I guess some people don't have a sense of humor that others have.”
Smith indicated after sitting out Thursday’s game that he was unsure of his status with the organization going forward, although his three-year $18 million contract, his laundry list of league-imposed fines and suspensions and his declining play likely will make him difficult for the Knicks to move. The New Jersey product is averaging 11.3 points and shooting just 34.8 percent from the field through 29 appearances this season.
While his teammates offered vocal support Thursday night, many New York fans and much or all of the team’s hierarchy clearly have had enough of the sideshow guard. Smith initially left practice Saturday without addressing the media, but a team p.r. man followed him and brought him back to the gym.
“What have you done for me lately, pretty much,” Smith said as he began walking away from the media. “You miss shots, it's going to happen.”
SICK BAY: Tyson Chandler did not make the trip and will miss his third straight game with an upper respiratory infection. Beno Udrih (knee) also remains sidelined, but Pablo Prigioni (toe) resumed light running at the morning practice.
