They have American-ish food, like popeyes, kfc, mc donalds, pizza hut hardee's etc.. you could also just shop at the grocery stores, which also includes a food court upstairs most of the time..
the food here aint all that tho, everything is either too spicey or too bland nothing is really flavorful

Pay checks not wack though. They buy your time here basically. I've made more money before working in Afghanistan but I make a significant amount more here than I did in the states with my last job and can save ALOT more here than in the states. Also we qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion as long as I'm out the U.S 330 days out the year.

No. Only people you see with guns are police and military. And the police basically just act as roadside assistance. It's a lot of speed cameras out here but as long as you know where they are you can and people will drive as fast as they want and just slow down for the cameras. People will pass the police going 50 over and they will not chase you. A lot of times they are speeding themselves without the lights on and just want you to get out the way.
I'm going to be ruined driving wise once I come back to the states smh.

yes but its not like this is a warzone or anything, while I am sure it happens you don't see any of that stuff.. People aren't out here breaking the law cause the penalties are a lot harsher than in the states.
The Qatari's have this sense of entitlement because they feel like its their land. They do petty shyt like drive without a license with out insurance, drive crazy aggressive and if they get into an accident they know all they have to do is pay a fine and the problem will go away. I have heard stories of them getting into accidents and killing the person and they pay 80k and it goes away, no jail time nothing.. They basically have slaves, they will argue and complain and whine about "bad service" and either get their way or they don't pay..
They get like 100K a year just for being Qatari, and they don't have a credit system here, like if you want a loan they give it to you based on your income. They make you get an exit visa in order to leave the country to prevent you from skipping town on your debt...

anywhere you go is really what you make of it, yes all of that shyt sucks but being here on a contract you kind get the best of both worlds and you are given an insane amount of vacation time to travel to nearby places where you can do all of those things.. I look at it like you just have to figure out other ways to have fun, I was tired of the typical club/bar life back home anyway. Since I have been here I have met girls from all over Africa, asia, there is quite a few black Americans here and I have been to places I never would have thought about going if Ii was still at home..I have never just out rite asked a Qatari how much money they get but not everyone is rich from my understanding and you get money based on your family’s name. Actually almost half live in debt and take out loans to afford their lifestyle but the government kind of washes away all the debt after 7 years. Kind of like bankruptcy but a lot better.
I do know once you marry you get land though. Another thing that shocked me was that a lot actually have regular jobs in the mall at the little kiosk and what not (they be on chill mode), cellphone stores (think Verizon equivalent) and other random places. I work with the Qatar Air Force and their officers are BANKING. Parking lot at my job is fill of Benz SUVs, Range Rovers, Ford Raptors and other random stuff. Usually on Thursday’s (our Friday) is when they bring out the Phantoms, Porsche 911’s, Maserati’s, etc
