Joe on his podcast said he's not ready to say Ars beat Lux, Mal sounded like he thought Lux won
Then they got into a battle rap debate and Joe said it's dead and it's because of money and battle rappers charging too much and said Smack lost his main sponsor the Vodca people so they have nobody to fund these battles anymore
He's suppose to be on PSA tonight to debate Dre on it
Based on what you typed, Joe sounds like a casual fan. Well, I will put it like this. He follows more than the typical casual fan, but he's far from a hardcore fan. Someone who knows what they are talking about can really put Buttons in his place.
I will definitely acknowledge that battle rap has a different "feel," which is why I don't get too enthusiastic about a lot of battles. However, it is far from dead.
One could argue that Buttons and Shady attempted to kill battlerap with their bullshyt representation of it. You are talking about a company that did not care to put out the best product possible. They treated the show like it was the freestyle era or some shyt, giving guys minimal time to prepare, showing chokes on tv, etc. They then proceeded to put out a crappy PPV hosted by Sway.
I hope Dre's homie Shawn is on. He has no problem getting at Buttons.
