I think the KOTD chain does more for you when you have music & merchandise to peddle, but I don't have any numbers to back that up.
The KOTD title rules may need to be adjusted so that the champ can take 1 rounders, or do 2 on 2 battles on other platforms. Something so that they're not exclusively limited to KOTD battles. The idea that Cortez's momentum could be hurt if he WINS is problematic.

I think the KOTD chain is worthless. It doesnt feel like the Holy Grail for KOTD battlers.

Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but I do not believe that Bigg K would lift a finger to promote the KOTD brand if he wasn't being compensated. He's dissed their fans multiple times, he's dissed their ownership group a couple times, etc. And it's clear he wants to get back on URL.
He's just better than all the guys they have over there even when he's on cruise control. I don't feel like he goes into KOTD battles thinking they might effect his stock. Maybe the Head Ice battle, but other than that?
You're not missing anything. Cal trolled him for 15 minutes to throw him off, then spit three songs from Shoebox Money Vol. ? got paid and left with 20 dudes from Detroit.
If battlers & battle fans alike feel this way about the KOTD chain, then KOTD needs to be called out on it. Adjustments need to be made so that it benefits the battlers more.
I feel like someone like ARP could take the chain idea and really flip it.

Yeah Bigg K may have shot himself in the foot with that 3rd against Pat Stay saying what he said. They did help him out when URL wasn't seeing eye to eye with him. I'd say the same thing if it was RBE. Now, the Head Ice battle was a big test for him I think weakened him a little. And Pat Stay even cracked his armor somewhat. So I dunno. He is definitely one of the best on their roster but I wouldn't knock the league in public either when it seems like they've done right by him. Must be some other things going on.
Yep. And I still can't give him the win clearly. AFM said Brizz lost clear and I was like how, lol.

Neither Head Ice or Cortez are going to throw this battle. However, these guys like to stay active, and the KOTD chain just doesn't benefit either guy.
I'm not gonna completely disregard the title. I really feel it did elevate someone like Pat Stay, who is considered a top tier guy in battle rap. Battling exclusively with KOTD, rarely battling, and the so called bully persona really helped his status.

I have a few ideas:
let the winner of the Championship battle win a bonus. Like 5 racks or something. Money always works, hence why I referenced the 10 stacks at SM2. Rex turned into a demon.
The champ will always main event all the major cards. So for example in URL the champ would main event NOME and SM or for KOTD, Mass and World Domination.
Some other perks like always winning the coin toss automatically, hosting battles/flipping the coin on the smaller cards would be good too.
