Question: can battle rappers become legend status without being a force on the big stages? Example: when JC is done, will he be considered a legend? We all know what he has done and can do.

Is DOT going to go down as a legend?
I hope your talking about B Dot and not reaching ass Dot:scust:

His manager moved to Atlanta, hopefully he moves with him.

Every rapper, specifically street rappers, need to take that lil Boosie vlad interview very seriously.

I hope everyone knows what I’m referring to. The “every rapper dies in their own city/hypnotized with hatred” interview.

Y’all know how the most effective form of battling is 3 rounds, acapella, with prepared material?

It dawned on me last year that Flex uuncovered the most effective form of freestyles that will generate the most attention and views. It actually seems pretty simple but he was able to capture the right atmosphere to get it done. It isn’t cyphers with a bunch nyggas spitting. It isn’t a radio interview where the interviewer asks well you are here, do you have some bars? It isn’t spitting off the top. It’s a prepared freestyle with just the rapper and Flex. You see “Bars on I-95” mimicking the formula and it works. Surf damn near at 1M views. Other emcees generating views on that page with not many subscribers.

I always knew freestyles could be a great platform under the right format.

Basically, if the emcee goes the fukk off in that format, it’s going to get a lot of views due to replay value. That Surf freestyle has real replay value.

I remember I said the URL should get back to cyphers, but I say scratch that. All you need to Smack sitting down while the other emcee is spitting.

Obviously, freestyles are nothing new. You can freestyle at a lot places. It’s all about the presentation, environment, etc. Basically the same thing with battle rap.

I think cyphers have limitations in views, because there's always going to be some emcees in there that someone doesn't care for. It's better to do either one person, two at the most if they have the right chemistry and they are from the same team.

That's a pretty good idea. Smack is also pretty charismatic himself so him ad libbing like Flex does now and then while someone is goin in would be dope.

Julian Carter will go down as a legend. Despite his flaws on the big stage, this is his 3rd Summer Madness selection, the same amount as Math Hoffa.

He has a more consistent fan base than all of the other pen guys.

He has arguably the greatest small room battle of all time.

He has a standout style and sound. He sounds like he could be a teacher, preacher, or a politician. I believe that is the source of his "star power", because he's obviously not a great performer.

His material ages well imo, I just watched JC vs Luciano Crakk and his bars sounded fresh.

He can get 100k views battling in the stock room at the Gap.

He just replaced Tsu Surf on Summer Madness and battle fans were HYPED.

Edit - I was rolling off random items, I forgot to note the comeback

I really didn’t think URL would release Verb vs Twork before the RBE event.
