Arteta with MLS / Nwaneri, Amorim with Mainoo. Managers on a power trip, having fans believe that academy taletnts "arent a fit"

Trying to prove some weird point when almost every time the club has needed them to, the players have stepped up. Can the kids contribute to winning football or not? So annoying to me :snoop:
The pressure at the top to keep winning is so high, managers dont like to take risks
Mourinho never really liked using kids ( even though he says he does and uses examples where he has on occasions)
He always liked playing the experienced established players, hence why the likes of Salah and De Bruyne never worked out for him
And look how they both turned out, 2 of the best to ever do it in the PL

If im Arteta im starting the same team against Madrid as he did on Saturday, but will he have the balls to do it considering the pressure of a CL semi final 2nd leg

Especially when academy kids are the ONLY reason he still has a job and a legion of cultists behind him

ESR, Saka, MLS, Nwaneri, Dowman…all have had big moments that either stabilized or moved us forward under this manager and he STILL refuses to play them.

If ESR doesn’t turn up against Chelsea, he 100% gets fired

mainoo is a good player but if we compare him to someone like anderson we can see what he is missing.

and anderson was very much the junior midfielder in the team back then.

i'm struggling to think of a single metric where mainoo >> anderson.

short passing is about the same.

long passing anderson is better.

anderson was better at carrying the ball and faster across the ground.

strength is about the same although anderson used his weight/strength better.

anderson was more assertive is running the game.

anderson was better at going past players.

maybe mainoo is better at close control under pressure (especially when defending) but it is close.

-

mainoo is never going to match anderson's physical gifts so to get to his level he'll have to focus on the carrick/alonso-esque side of his game i.e.

defending

positioning

long passing / switch to wings

forward pass completion

strategic running of a game

-

anderson was a chubbster but could move when he had to

Get him fukking gone :camby:

Stop

He won the league last season so he is afforded to have a bad one. And let's be honest, season has not even been that catastrophic.

You Liverpool fans need to stop acting like your Real Madrid where there is an expectation to win everything every season. Your not THAT club.

Champions league qualification, competing for the title, domestic trophy every other season. THATS who Liverpool is.

Chelsea going back to their pre-Ambrovich era settings.

Pretended to be a big club for far too long :camby:
