Wait so when you do jury duty you don't get paid for the $$$ youre losing from being of work? How is that fair or legal?

And that check is crazy small. I went to do jury duty, was not picked for a jury. Had to sit in a room with a hundred others for 8 hours.
Got a check from the county for $5 for my service.
