Been finna make this one.

Life has been nice as of late...but everso often I feel i need to improve on certain parts of it. In regards to saving and spending. In regards to maintaining a positive and fruitful outlook on the future. In regards to not stressing the present. I know we all have some bad habits...some faults that we don't like about ourselves...well it's time to change that all around. Cause you can't help anyone else, unless you help yourself first.

Now, personally, I never sought help for anything in my life no matter how tough it got. Why? Cause no matter how rough things would get, I always realized that at the end of the day I had it all under control. Even my family would tell me that's it not bad to have assistance once in a while, but I always knew I was strong enough to handle everything and anything. I couldnt display that type of weakness or helplessness. Not just to feel stigmatized as weak or helpless, or to feel victim to other's criticisms, but because like anything else in life it's a welcome challenge. Dealing with adversity has made me the person I am today and more and more I'm finally able to enjoy and be proud of who I am.

So here...i want people to share some advice, tips, pointers, insights, so we can all work one day at a time to getting closer to our goals of truly being that person we want to be.

No judgmental attitudes or negativity is welcome in this thread.

Alright. Let me start this off.

Saving money. Spending money.

Now I'm trying to figure out more and more how to not only save money...and spend it wisely. But to actually make money in between on the side between jobs. I was thinking bout setting up and etsy store and an ebay store to sell vintage clothing items (ie clothes i dont wear anymore) where i feel I can gain the maximum amount for my stuff.

Saving money? Somebody told me to set aside 5 dollars a day somewhere if possible...and just to watch that build up. Also to save change.

Spending money? Now when i buy stuff i only try to buy essentials. Wants are not in that equation anymore. Food, bills, rent. That's it. My problem is I spend too much money on food...:mjcry:

1.be hard on yourself. I have a list of "to-dos" that would make my life easier day by day, but i dont do them. Why? Instant gratification. I had to get a ride with my lil sis after missing the bus this morning. Shes not even 21 and has a car, and im asking her for rides? My point? I wasnt thinking about all of that when i was fukking around on dota last night, or skating and spending money, or sleeping late when i should be aiming for my next full-time gig. Be hard on yourself and remind yourself why you are slipping.

2. Incentivize yourself. Last night while i was playing dota, and lost :francis: i meandered down to the kitchen to cook some swordfish, basmatti rice, and broccoli. Sure im not the only one home, but the dishes were fukked and clearly no one was gonna touch them. My plan was to simmer the food and play dota, but instead, i made a deal: if I wash those dishes, then I can go play. 30 minutes later i was eating like a king, dishes clean, and prepping for my next game, delay gratification, and do the shyt you need to *now*. Procrastination literally ruins lives. Reward yourself with what you were gonna do anyway, but only after knocking out your tasks.

3. Do anything but wait. Many of us suffer from analysis paralysis and rest on our laurels if we are trying to make another investment into ourselves. I cant afford to go to the gym right now..so do i sit on my ass till i can? Nah. I hit them bodyweights, and creatively use my 15 and 25 lb dumbells to knock out a real workout.
Your job sucks and you wanna move on? Dont slack, fix your habits. While you look, perform at your peak.

When your next real opportunity comes, how you gonna appreciate and be your best when the last step wasnt taken care of? If i went from my low wage, low responsibility jobs to having a business fall in my lap, im not going to conjure up work ethic out of nowhere. The easiest way to prep for the next move is to make sure you aced the last one. Evolution of character is very fukking important, and if you give up when shyt aint going your way today, tomorrow is going to be much the same.

Dont think about 5-10 minutes from now...or 5-10 days from now...but moreso...5-10 years from now. It's said that the past is history but the future is a mystery and only the present matters. But really the future belongs to those that prepare for it today. Think about what you need to do today to make tomorrow easier. What choices do you have to make? What sacrifices do you have to make? What chances do you have to take? If you can prepare the best way you can for any situation that may come about you have already prepared yourself for this.

This is on a personal tip. Dont stress the past. Cause it's in the past. Some stuff is hard to get away from or get over...but at the end of the day...its over.

You might of had a terrible breakup with you girlfriend or boyfriend or whatever. Might of let the team down by fumbling a pass at a championship game. It's important to know that people will come in and out of your life all the time. Sometimes it’s best to just analyze a situation, learn from it, and move on. Getting stuck on the past will only get you...stuck. in a funk, in a depression, in a stationary state. We all grow and change and what we do in the past does not and should not be the defining characteristic of who we are now.

Fears and anxiety.

Some things are scary...but at the end of the day you cant let fear overcome you. Whether its fear of climbing a mountain or talking to that chick you was scheming on for fear of rejection. You have to face fear head on. Nothing is more scarier than the thought of "what if"
