What am I? A farmer?
Lol I'd rather stick to the topic at hand, I'm not gonna go through masses of K-Rino bars to then dissect each lyric. What I want to speak about specifically is the songs that have positively changed/effected people's lives. Any comments upon those would be welcomed and can speak about those.
But I'll quickly reply to what you said about the baritone line..
I just take that to mean his voice/rapping which is his like his instrument generates psychedelic pheromones, so it GENERATES them, not that his voice IS a psychedelic pheromone. So in a sense his voice/rapping is so powerful/hypnotizing it generates/circulates pheromones that leave someone in a psychedelic state and mesmerized by the bars and it attracts more listeners as it's addictive like drugs. So you might not like the bar, but it does make sense and it isn't rhyming just to rhyme.
A rhyme just to rhyme would be..
My pheromones mobile phone hotel cone sterile bone metronome
Etc... where you can't make any sense of it. The K-Rino rhyme you can make sense of, actually when I listened to it quick to hear it I thought it was pretty dope as it created some good imagery. Not saying it's the greatest bar of all time or anything. Am merely saying that it made sense to me and I see where he was going with it. Also I thought it was a well put together line also.
I haven't relistened to the other bar you mentioned yet as I'm getting so many messages about K-Rino from all over giving me props for putting people on, asking for song breakdowns, album recommendations and much more and am trying to do that at the same time while doing other shyt too. But for future reference where is that other bar exactly? Cause it's not the bar directly after the baritone part. And I just listened in parts at the moment. Like I said I'd prefer to stick to discussion of the actual topic of the thread, I won't be dissecting every K-Rino line as that shyt is a neverending task lol, and takes time. But I've given my perspective on the baritone line, and if you tell me where the other line is found I may come back to that when I can too as you've already asked the question.
The bar I quoted was from the song journey thru the metaphor labyrinth.
The last line I just made up to show you an example how a forced rhyme could look like (but replacing baritone with tenor).
Yea, I understand what you are trying to do and people have derailed the thread but I just replied to your statement that its ridiculous to make a claim that Rino sometimes forces rhymes (rhyme just to rhyme).
I also understand that you rather discuss the topic you posted, but when you say such statements is nonsensical or untrue I must be able to challenge you on it. Not to derail the thread but just to be able to discuss rhyme patterns and different rhyming styles.
Like I have said before, K-rino is a dope rhymer. But I feel he some times throws a word in just because it rhymes when the line could be much more direct and smooth. He dont have to say he got the "force of a Whale fleet" (a line also from journey thru the metaphor labyrinth). When have you ever heard a regular person talk about whale fleets? NEVER happens.
I looked up what you usually call a group of whales. the most common ones is: pod, a school or a gam. But you can also use: herd, mob, run, shoal, troup, flote, and grind.
Off all the correct words he could use to describe a group of whales he chose a to go with a "incorrect" word just to fit the rhyme (The definition in my opinion of a forced rhyme).
Only to be able to rhyme with: "I swell cheeks for twelve weeks". Which is not as bad but still feels kind of corny to me, especially when you have the whale fleet line just before that. Just imagine 2pac rapping that line.
Saying things like "My intellectual home is a terror zone" irks me. I understand this is his style and all that. But it just bugs me when a person is clearly is a great rhymer but dont know when to take it down a notch. He can come off corny with lines like that. The rhyme stands out and takes up to much room when it should be the line as a whole that gets noticed.
Of course some of it has to do with personal preferences. But I still think its a fair criticism.
For me the statement "rhyme just to rhyme" is not about him rhyming words that dont make nonsense sentences like your example: "My pheromones mobile phone hotel cone sterile bone metronome".
For me its everything I have talked about above. Different elements makes of a line feel forced.
Again. Not saying K-rino only have these kinds of bars but in my opinion they are not uncommon either.
