There’s been a lot of talk about me going to Oakland because of coach (Jack) Del Rio,” said Knighton. “He and I have a great relationship. I know his defense. I know exactly how he wants his nose tackles to play and I am a very loyal person. He stuck with me..and he is a big part of me being in Denver. So if things don’t work out he is definitely the first person I would like to talk to

Knighton and Hardy:banderas:

INDIANAPOLIS — Even though Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said he wouldn’t rule out keeping high-priced backup quarterback Matt Schaub, league sources said Thursday that’s not happening.

Schaub is due to make $5.5 million if the Raiders keep him, a year after trading for him to be their starting quarterback. Schaub lost the job in training camp to rookie Derek Carr and wound up throwing two interceptions in 10 passes as a backup last season. If he is cut, that would leave Matt McGloin as the only quarterback besides Carr on the roster.

McKenzie had said Wednesday night that “it’s always realistic” that Schaub could be back.

“He doesn’t have anything that is forcing our hand right now,” said McKenzie. “There could be other teams that want him and maybe would trade me a player for him.”

The Raiders are already $50 million under the salary cap and that would grow if they also cut safety Tyvon Branch or linebacker LaMarr Woodley.

The injury-plagued Branch, who has a salary cap number of $9.7 million, is due a $1 million roster bonus on March 12. He has played in only five games in two seasons, might not be able to beat out Brandian Ross for the job, and the Raiders would save $3 million of the $9.7 against the cap. Woodley is due a $1.5 million bonus and $3.85 million salary. He had five tackles in six games before suffering a biceps injury.

Running back Maurice Jones-Drew likely would have to agree to a pay cut from his $2.4 million salary to have a chance at returning next season.

Just get rid of the players.. i like branch but that salary and him being injury prone isn't worth it

So Cal
Unless they can get somebody better (which brandian Ross is not) they better not cut branch. Branch just had two freak injuries, prior to that he missed 2 games in 4 seasons.

If Leonard Williams drops to 4 brehs :banderas: Im doubtful though. If we can't get Williams, I wouldn't mind trading down, considering how deep the WR class looks

This offseason is make or break for Reggie. I think I see his vision now going back to last season's moves. Hopefully he pulls the right strings this year

Why is mark davis still running around talking about staying in Oakland when Oakland city officials keep playing his ass with all these 1 year contract and they will figure something out...

Hell the warriors new they had to move to Frisco cause Oakland is full of shyt..

I prefer the raiders in Inglewood than carson and the rams can find a stadium in Orange county
