uh the pacers drafted kahwi in order to trade him to the spurs. if there was no trade, they wouldn't have drafted kahwi.
Which would make them even more stupid. The Warriors were supposed to have traded their 2009 draft pick to the Suns for Amare but when Steph fell they broke the deal off and said fukk Phoenix. Phoenix was pissed but who cares? Indy should've done the same once Leonard fell.

Let's not forget that they've since compounded that mistake by inexplicably extending Hill for four years/32 mil.
$8 mil a fukkin year. Conley makes $9 mil a year. How is it possible that this guy makes almost as much as a guy who is world's better than him at his position?

I don't even think kawhi leonard is even that good, once duncan and pop retires after this season it'll be interesting to see his development. he's a #3 option at best

indiana most likely drafted him for the spurs

If Kawhi improves his handles a bit more, then I think he'll be a very solid two way player, he'll never be a 20 PPG guy but I could see him averaging 17-18 PPG with like 7-8 RPG, a couple assists, a couple steals when he reaches his prime.

He isn't going to be the #1 option ... but he can become a good #2 or #3 as he gets older. Still is very young.

I also don't think Duncan and Pop are retiring, I think when 2015 rolls around and the Spurs books are cleared next summer then that'll be the start of the new era..

larry bird is a fukkin horrible gm, but gets a pass for obvious reasons :mjpls:

- team has had no bench for the past 3 years
- george hill trade - horrible
- scola trade - horrible.. traded away plumlee - couldve been a solid bench player, green - breakout year, you telling me these guys couldntve played 10-15 mins a night... AND THEY THREW IN A FIRST ROUND PICK :bryan:

granger trade - horrible, needed his leadership when things fell apart

team was on the cusp on the nba finals, and bird did nothing to improve the team :pacspit:

thats not on bird. thats vogel and his coaching staff. it seems like everybody who goes to indiana turns to bum status. then they leave and start balling again. 1. darren collison- people said he wasnt legit. now balling out in la. 2. cj watson- good in chicago and ok in bk. bum in indiana. 3. evan turner- yea some may say well he scored on a bad team. well all i know is that he could have been an all star and was a legit mip candidate. goes to indiana and does nothing. i thought the scola trade was good. i just wished copeland had played more. gerald green was never that good to start with. being out of the league humbled him and remember- everyones stats look good when you go to phoenix. now you take any other team in the league and i told you their bench was evan turner, cj watson, chris copeland, scola. most of you would say damn thats a solid bench. yet with the pacers its they dont have a bench.

Simple, really -- Kevin Pritchard is wildly overrated as a GM even to this day.

Dude got so much undue credit for "stockpiling talent" during his years in Portland. Where did that get them? High 40's/low 50's in wins, 4-6 seed, and bounced every year in the first round... too good to improve dramatically via the draft yet nowhere near actual title contention. In other words, NBA purgatory.

He shows up in Indy and what happens? First draft, he trades Kawhi for George Hill. Their team becomes less and less talented every single year. This fukking guy didn't draft Paul George... didn't draft Lance... didn't draft Hibbert... makes a flurry of seemingly innocuous moves that snowball into creating a team with no depth whatsoever, matches the ridiculous offer sheet for Hibbert, and then extends George Hill at 8 mil per.

Now this team is completely devoid of salary cap space and has no way of measurably improving until these albatross contracts come off the books.

Phoenix was one of the worst teams in the NBA last year. Jeff Hornacek is a damn good coach and he got the best out of that roster and specifically with Gerald Green, he coached him up pretty good to where he had his best season.

Coaching matters and Vogel/His staff don't seem to let their bench guys get in rhythm in the regular season and he runs his starters big minutes as well.

I mean, we know Scola is a bum defensively and isn't consistent but his touches in general were inconsistent esp when he had a guy who couldn't guard him on the block numerous times in the MIA series.

Considering they traded an overpaid bench player for him they made out well, I don't think he'll be a superstar but with more touches and a more uptempo team he could post Shawn Marion type numbers.
Exactly I see him as matrix 2. U need these type of players on your team. Solid 2 way player
