Lotta good picks floated here. Doubt Rice would run with trump tho.

Couple months ago I said Petraeus, still think that's a good pick. That could become a Lemay situation tho. Allen West would be a similar pick to Petraus and he offers a perceived opportunity to speak to black voters.

Big one not mentioned in here is Jeff Sessions. Might be a redundant pick with trump at the top but sessions has been friendly to trump since day 1. And he is a US senator who could offer some electoral legitimacy to the ticket.

HRC is probably gonna go with Castro, which is a super dumb pick
Patreaus could have easily be a GOP front runner...

he still may in the future :mjpls:

Yeah but if Trump loses to Hilldawg or Bernie then the VP is done politically. They will be seen by a lot of the establishment as a traitor and part of the Trump circus. They will hold no weight in the future.

You watch too much media thinking that Trump is hated in the US. The guy is a successful and powerful man and hold weight in this country. His running mate will benefit from being his running mate like Sarah Palin after Mccain lost, she got more money and media attention than before when she was Governor of Alaska, same thing for Paul Ryan, the guy become speaker just because he was the Vp candidate on Romney Ticket, more money and more prestige for him. You can't lose, it's a Win-Win situation.

It's not about how right or left wing he is on most policy matters, it's his nativism, xenophobia, racism, and compulsive lying that makes him toxic to most.

There is zero chance Condi runs with him. She doesn't even want to be in politics anymore, much less be VP to a racist jackass. Every four years people start floating her name around but she obviously wants no more parts of public life.

Are you trying to tell me that the republican wasn't racist, sexist, and jackass before Trump:usure:. I won't make you a list of things they said in the past because this would be too long. Condi was republican under the Bush administration, come on, remember Katrina:francis:, if she really cared about racism, i don't think she would have accepted to serve under George Bush and dikk Cheney:mjlol:

I know the breh @smitty22 is against this, but Kaisch should be VP. shore up that Moderate republican base.
Trump should go with one of the beloved military generals. That way he can keep with his outsider theme, and plus it will ease peoples fears about his foreign policy :yeshrug:

Edit: wrong thread

Posted this in the wrong thread. But this is the route i think he should go.

I'm not gonna keep going back and forth with you, but again there is zero chance that Condi will be Trump's VP. If Condi is Trump's VP I will upload a video of myself eating a live squirrel.

Or they may be heralded by the establishment.

One scenario that comes to mind is that the republican establishment calls a truce with trump as long as they get to put in a vp of their choosing.

It would be a win win for all involved. Trump gets to focus on the dems and locks up the entire republican apparatus. The establishment gets to reign in Trumps attacks on them. The VP would do it knowing that they can always spin it as "necessary to keep the party together" and can say "I was forced to do it." They'd never lose public support among moderates or the establishment because they bit the bullet for the team.

Also trump going with a general for VP would be a waste of a nomination. He could easily use that person as a carrot and stick choice in his cabinet.

Remember Bush got picked because of the team he was able to assemble. That's what Americans trusted most. That's why Trumps lack of insight on issues doesn't matter much. He's said since the beginning that he'll hire the best people. If folks were fine trusting the intelligence of Bush, they'd be more than happy with the intelligence of Trump.
