Unpopular Opinion: Mac & Cheese is overrated

It's doesn't make or break a plate. It's not a must have side. "Good" Mac & Cheese isn't even based on the taste half the time. People base it on its texture and consistency. Unless you add some kind of protein to it, it for the most part just tastes like cheese.



I've had good Mac and cheese and bad Mac and cheese and honestly the taste is roughly the same. I'll eat it if it's there, but I never understood why people go crazy over it.

Some folks don't like cheese so they won't love MNC not matter what.

I love Mac N Cheese with jalapeños. The peppers break up the monotony. Gotta use sharp cheddar..maybe even some gouda or pepper jack.
