Both dropped in late '98. Which one are you riding with? Vol. 2 is the better album to me.

I gotta ride with X on this.

Jay is my favorite rapper but Vol. 2 is one of my least favorite albums of his, and X was on fire in 98. I could be wrong but I think he's still the only artist to drop 2 albums in the same calendar year that both were #1 on the Billboard Top 200.

I got FOMF for my birthday. I remember Hell is Hot dropped in late winter early spring and then FOMF came out that December.

:banderas: what a year for DMX.

And now in 2016 it's :mjcry: for X

X easily. Jay album was pandering too much to radio, meanwhile X dropped a street banger.

i never really got into either of those albums but i can listen to more tracks on that Vol. 2.

Flesh of my Flesh is one of those albums thats not bad, but even to this day i'm still trying to get into it...but i honestly prefer Its Dark & Hell Is hot and even And Then There Was X to that one.

Great comparison but difficult choice .... I'm go with Vol 2 though only by a small margin though cause FOMF had more a little more filler than Vol 2 , but highs on both albums were stellar , Swizz Beatz was in his prime on both of them joints

Really?

FOMF was not nearly as dope as Hell Is Hot but maybe I was just too young to realize that I hated that era of beats by Swizz, but in the moment I liked that shyt. Would I listen to it now all the way through? Hell no. Did I fukk with these tracks as a young buck? Yep.

Yeah I'm :cape: for X a little bit in this thread because I was huge X stan in 98 and 99, but It's Dark and Hell Is Hot is miles better than FOMF. You could tell that shyt was rushed because it came out like 8 or 9 months later.

did pac do that in 96?
just checked. yes he did
