In Barkley’s case, you get the sense he has played the clown for so long, and has been so handsomely rewarded for it, he long ago lost the border between the self and the costume. Maybe there never was a border. Maybe, when you peel back Sir Charles’ sad clown mask, you find an even sadder clown, one who has never realized that he devolved into the cruelest joke of all: A tragic punchline devoid of both humor and humanity.

That is real talk....

Also I wanted to point out to everyone that this is not the first time TNT has given Barkley a show to talk about race and or politics.

If you guys remember in the early or mid 2000s TNT gave Barkley a show then and had it come on an hour before the TNT pregame show. He also had a segment on CNN at the same time and would come over and discuss the latest issues.

So TNT/CNN been trying to prop him up for years and Barkley has taken full advantage of this shyt.

This also speaks to a larger issue that I have discussed with friends and family. Gone are the days when qualified folks would discuss issues on tv (50s, 60s and 70s). Now a days (started in the 90s) where anyone with popularity is picked and either given a show or thrown on a show to talk or interview folks about subjects that they are not qualified for.

Too many times I can turn on the TV and some fool is giving advice that they have no academic education in or license in or worked as a professional in. Or they are interviewing folks yet have no journalism exp. or education in that field. Some how cause these folks got some tv, or movie, or sports, or internet, or radio or Twitter or Facebook following that shyt makes them a subject matter expert.

No other place does this shyt exist to the levels it does on cable and network TV.

I mean can an engineer, professor or doctor go to an interview and the hiring manager is like so do you have any education and/or experience in this field and jokers be like naw I just read a couple of books and watched some videos on youtube and I heard some shyt from my friends.....that should be enough to get me hired.

Just the total and complete dumbing down of America.

Yup... Walt kept it sports, but you can roll this back to the media as a whole and this is exactly how we have Trump and all the other bullshyt we're seeing. The media has become about sensationalism instead of reporting the facts. The thing that bothers me the absolute most is this seemingly new phenomenon where news outlets pretend to be "fair" and try to show you "both sides" of an argument, not matter how absolutely ridiculous one side is. And two the average viewer, both sides hold equal value and equal representation.

Take the DNC for example, despite the fact that 90% of Bernie Sanders voters said they will vote for Hillary in the fall, you saw interview after interview of the "fukk Hillary" Sanders supporter, leading everyone to panic... "The democrats are split!" Like Walt said, "Giving voice to the loud and moronic."
