Bro....we always asked those of means and intellect to speak for us.

You're turning us into fools who ask any and everybody to speak on our behalf.

It's the media t decision to ignore those of us that bring quality thoughts to the table. Its as if you're blaming us for Barkley being given this platform and not the media for ignoring those of us who are much more knowledgeable than Charles.
Breh I honestly don't see that distinction made enough. I don't here people say what do the smart rappers/athletes saying or doing about this. They just say rappers/athletes. Now you can make a case that it's implied that we don't want morons like Chuck speaking up, but the thing is that no one actually believes themselves to be a moron.

and to What I think Crimson is saying is that Chuck is outspoken on important topics but he is of course a bytchass uncle ruckus so be careful what you wish for.

Yo, thanks for reading. I know it might sound like some Grade A bullshyt, but I don't ever write my freelance pieces out of self-interest, it's always about the bigger picture. Barkley with a show on race (not racism, but race) on TNT called "The Race Card" is absolutely unacceptable, specially in the current social climate. The only way to force a mainstream conversation about this is to make the dissenting voice heard loud and clear. So please, for the sake of black Americans and the sake of decency share this story far and wide. If y'all post on other boards, share it there. If y'all got an ESPN account, share it in their comment sections. Know someone who knows someone who might give it a bigger audience? Shoot that person a link. Have a reddit account? Definitely share it there.

Thanks.

Nah.

No one is wishing for that. Yall refuse to get past this act that we are asking for the unqualified with a platform to speak.

This is a generational gap here. I grew up watching entertainers like Harry Belefonte, Bobby Mitchell, james Brown and Ali be given platforms. They made SURE no one like that would be given a voice again, replacing them with fools.

but here you are making that our fault man.

Nah.....it's on them. Only thing that's on us is to build our own platforms with black media which is no longer.

Yall are looking through the lenses of what they've left you with, unfortunately. :to:

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
So strange how wide the gap is between the best and worst posters on this forum. On one hand, you have Walt. On the other hand, you have an autistic angry wigger who is a substitute third grade teacher despite writing at a second grade level.

:dead:

Now that you put it like that, it is crazy. We got a poster so good he's featured on SI, then you have @Sccit , @Big L Was the Biggest W and @Gangstar8 who all seem legitimately slow.

I've long believed that Barkley is like a warped Ali. He has some of the media charm and quick wit humor but none of the winning, intellect, or dignity. More importantly, unlike Ali he tells many white people what they want to hear.

There's a very large demand for black people, specifically black men, who belittle their race and blame blacks for their own oppression. Republicans have trotted these people out for 8 years to combat Obama and say things a white man might not be able to say. Barkley is probably more effective than those types because he's not political. He sells himself as some type of neutral fountain of truth telling. And the media is playing along. That's dangerous.

Why worry though? I didn't even know about this new show until I read your article, and the Chuckster doesn't really have the ability to carry a show as proven by his failed talk show on TNT years ago. He only attracts attention in the same way a car wreck does. Society's rubberneckers won't set aside any time to bother with it. They enjoy his bullshyt in passing by, thanking jeebus that it wasn't them, and then hitting the gas to get some In and Out.

@Walt how come you don't publish on Medium any more? Speak on your experience with that platform. PM me if you'd prefer.

I saw they put a big ad for The Cauldron on your piece. Are you involved with that?
