He’s basically saying that artist in the industry get skeleton songs shopped around to them. That goes against conventional wisdom on thecoli

The difference between the great artist and pedestrian artist is what bring out of these skeletons
For pop, sure.

Uh...imma let you finish:

But there is a big difference between the "CEO of Warner" and the "CEO of Warner-Chappell"
...and Jon Platt is neither.

This is how music loses its soul.

Aka one man makes a demo and 5 of their chosen workers make it commercially ready.

We are a long way from the rapper/writer, producer/beatmaler, engineer teamup.

Now its a dozen people on one song. Its disgusting.

We live in the era of manufactured stars being able to be transparent. White rappers getting more push and support. I truly think the game on it's last leg.

It is......when was the last time you heard of a critically acclaimed ground breaking project from a rapper that impacted the entire genre?

Streaming is to blame. Best thing for the consumer but terrible for the artists. Damn 360 deal wouldn't have been created. Also music being so microwavable ready, the youth don't value quality. Just want to throw the around classic to who they dikk ride and demand more instantaneously. These kids are trash. I like the new DIY attitude but they just make bullshyt. Mumble rap is pretty much snap music but with a complete different drum pattern and flow. fukk these little cacs, they killed hip hop

Producers have been making reference tracks for years to shop.

Goes far back as songwriters penning hits for artists.

Its only news to people who dont work in the music industry.
