He was a crackhead. There’s nothing really to say, nor is there anything interesting about a crackhead.

It sounds harsh, but crackheads aren’t taken seriously.

To his credit, females wanted to fukk with him, but dudes didn’t want to be him.

Probably, I don't like how people try to say rappers from that time periods lyrics were suspect though. We knew certain things weren't supposed to be taken literally then.
DJ Quik said one of the worst things ever on that MC eight diss....I couldnt believe it.

So basically what I’m gathering from this thread is that taking L’s, crashing out, and making bad decisions makes you “real”.

DMX lost so much during the 2000’s that we felt sorry for him.
But having no talent means you fall off and beg for returns...Ja Rule...

If you've never seen bytches at Coyote uglys line dancing on the bar tops to "x gon give it to ya" then you don't understand how big DMX was.

So we just gonna pretend like nikkas didn't know that X was arranging for his own son to get raped as a minor? :wtf:

Let’s stop the fake outrage…

If your dad was DMX, you’d try to get some cat off his clout too.

X had chicks that would do anything he asked.

Name one rapper who can have women crying after reading the bible out loud

While we’re at it, throw Larry June in there. E40 and Too Short rarely get BS thrown their way too.

I may be biased but i feel like Too Short and definitely E-40 got criticism. Or maybe as a big fan of both i just noticed it more.

I would just say there really was nothing polarizing about DMX. He was lyrical enough to not have haters on that front. He made hits, but they werent pop sellout records. So you never had anybody to accuse him of not being real hiphop or soft. He never had a real beef so you dont have fans picking sides against him like with Nas,Jayz and Pac and Big.

Only incident i can remember is i think he said some shyt about the west coast and got some backlash. But it was just a blip because even the west coast messed with DMX and people chose to write it off as the crack made him say it:mjlol:

Because X was rare in that he was actually a product of his environment. He had demons as much as he had a gift.

DMX definitely got hate when he came on to the scene from a specific type of Hip Hop fan aka White nerds. And even then it was mostly just music hate, not personal dislike for him.

But in general his lack of hate relative to other superstars can probably be summed up simply:

Even though he was rich and famous, he didn't live a life most people wanted to live. Most hate for superstar rappers comes from envy. I don't think most people were ever envious of X. Most felt sympathetic or happy for him.
