It isn't easy to get jobs here and the prices are high to live in anything outside of a dusty apartment. Most one bedroom apartments will cost at least 1000 a month, and it will be in a ratchet area. I can't see people moving here and just taking over unless they had money before they came here.

Coming from Jersey with our high ass costs of living, the adjustment wouldnt be too crazy. You can't really get a 1 bedroom here in Jersey for under $1K unless u want to be cramped and in a wack area.

Shyt is lowkey the best place to be right now
  • It's arguably the most powerful city in the world...
  • Probably the second most international US city besides New York...
  • Faster than the rest of the country but, slower than the craziness that is New York...
  • Career opportunities. It's more expensive here but, jobs also pay more...
  • GOAT location (the entire east coast has this in common). NYC, Philly, Baltimore, Atlantic City, Virginia Beach, Ocean City, Eastern Shore, Mountains are all between 2-4 hours away...
  • Gentrification is pushing alot of locals into MD, but on the other hand, the city has a bright future. Take one drive around the city and there's construction going on every other block.
  • GOAT public transportation. You really don't need a car if you live in the city.
  • Women everywhere :wow: Ethiopians/East Africans :wow: Nigerians, Ghanaians, West Indians :wow: Afrocentric broads on U-Street :wow: Bougie Howard girls :wow: Georgetown Pawgs :wow:
  • Mambo Sauce :wow:
  • When the MGM Casino gets built, its over :banderas:

Almost every major urban city in America is similar in terms of prices.

New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, DC.

You want to live somewhere with a cool hip downtown, world class amenities and thousands of things going on, you gotta pay. If not, go move to Houston and get your 2000 sq ft house in the middle of nowhere :mjcry:

In the sky
Just moved down here a week ago. Left a good job in the city (NYC) now I work in the district by GWU. Loving it so far. Some fine as black women.

Looking for my spot now.

can houston and charlotte compete with dc and atlanta? or are they not on that level yet?

Atlanta, Houston and Charlotte belong in one group. They're car-centric cities with sprawl, endless strip malls and vanilla bland suburbs that people move to because cost of living there is incredibly cheap. DC belongs in another group. With Chicago, San Fran, Los Angeles, Boston. New York is in its own tier by itself.
