and ali paid that nikka back way more by putting 2.5 million in his pocket, especially considering that slow boat ass nikka was all set to accept like HALF that for the fight to begin with. ali didnt owe him shyt after the 1st fight, then he put more money in his fraziers pockets with the other fights

let's face facts here, wasnt nobody going out their way to watch joe frazier on name alone, not even in philly

it's like today, you can stick anybody in there with mayweather and itll draw like a motherfukker, cant do that with either klitschcko (sp) because nobody gives a fukk about them
:rudy:
i like how u ignore my reply & the others...
as far as the topic of ali called frazier a monkey, gorilla, unlce tom etc...etc...
esp. coming from a user with the name 'mr black'

but anywayz... u should log off for the day or so
by saying nobody was checking for joe frazier :smh:
u really dont know how stupid that sounds

even though frazier was the champ people wanted ali to win, thus ali was the draw, frazier was just some nikka with a belt

ali promoted the fight so hard because he was broke and wanted to make the most money possible, simple as that, and what the fukk does any of this have to with joe frazier trying to pick a fight with a damn near retarded ali years after all this shyt was over??
You know nothing of boxing :snoop: no one knew who joe Frazier was ? Look at his accolades ,his gold medal His status as undisputed champ

Joe Frazier was known at the time, but he wasn't considered the REAL champ back then to the general public.

Muhammad Ali was still considered The Champ, because he hadnt lost his belt in the ring. Joe Frazier needed to fight him in order to get that "Paper Champion" cloud from out over his head.

Ali did do him dirty with all the "Uncle Tom", "Gorilla", etc talks though. Frazier was ready for all the "float like a bumblebee...." type quotes and random shyt talking about how Ali was gonna whoop him, and he was prettier, and he couldnt be stopped. All the "Frazier is an Uncle Tom" in racist America at that time and the Civil Rights era made it :scusthov: , especially as one black man talking to another.

Calling a black man an Uncle Tom was HUGE back then and really made people look at Frazier in a different light, even though he wasnt a c00n at all:ufdup: That fukked with Frazier heavy and I can understand. Ali took it wayyyyy to far with the trash talk against Frazier and didnt even need to do all that:yeshrug:

They had fights in MSG all the time back then why do you keep bringing that up . And Ali was still the one calling him a Uncle Tom and a Gorilla to a white crowd right ? Frazier looked out for Ali in his Time of need and even turned down money by not fighting in the tournament for his vacated belt . Which one was more bytch made ?

Frazier, because atleast ali was willing to fight him after calling him a monkey and a c00n, whereas punk ass frazier waited until ali got parkinsons to talk shyt

Almost both.

In the boxing world, he was recognized as The Champ, but being that he never beat Ali for the title and Ali was coming back...it was almost as if people thought Frazier was just "keeping the belt warm".

Ali was definitely The People's Champion and Frazier had to fight Ali to prove that he wasnt a Paper Champion (which he never was anyways. Frazier was great). The perception and Ali's mouth however made it that way.

Ali is a hero of mine but the man is deeply flawed. If you could get Ali into a room now and ask him about what he said about Joe Frazier, he would tell you he went to far.

:ufdup:That Joe Frazier picture is of him surrounded with all of the people who funded his training over the years. That man came from nothing to become a champion. Like others have said Joe helped Ali immensely when he was banished from boxing. You need to chill the fukk out and give Joe Frazier some goddamn respect!

The man was bitter being called an uncle tom in front of millions that isn't easy to let go.

How was Ali "willing" to fight Frazier?

Frazier was The Champ breh:ufdup: HE was willing to give Ali the title shot still after all that bullshyt Ali was saying to him. Frazier gave him money to feed his wife and daughter, Frazier looked out for him and Ali did him wrong at the end of the day.

Nothing wrong with promoting the fight, but Ali did nothing but try and portray Frazier as a "sell-out, c00n, Uncle Tom" which he was none of
