It's one thing if it's just WM that's super long, but most of the B PPVs are closing in on 4 hours, RR and Summerslam are now 4+ hours as well.

Right... I look at it like, if it's gonna be a thing where people are spending big money on travel packages and making a whole weekend out of it with additional events and whatnot, then the show itself should reflect that. It should feature all (or most) the stars and stand out a lil more than all the other shows they have throughout the year. Sure, less is more at times, but as a fan I would hate to spend $$$ to go to this big-time happening and half the damn roster is left off the card or lumberjacking in the pre-show, then I get to see seven matches stretched out over 4 hours. For that much, I might as well keep my money and wait til Raw comes to town. Might even get more matches.

I don't know man, if I'm spending all that $$$ I want the best show possible. If that means not seeing 1/3 of the roster because they would just make the card more bloated and harder to get through, I'd be fine with that. 9 matches instead of 14 or whatever seems like a way more enjoyable experience than a 7 hour show.
By the time Becky closes the show (or Kofi, though that's a long shot), the crowd is naturally spent and the thing they paid to see the most is received as a cool moment but not the special one it could because the show was sooo long.
Time is another thing, I agree that it doesn't need to run 7 hrs... they need to condense the shows better and try to get these shows flowing a little tighter. I don't think every single match needs long interludes in between that add unnecessary minutes to the show. I don't feel every match needs to run mad long. The Mania 17 was 11 matches and it ran less than 4 hrs. Some of the early Manias had up to 14 matches and ran for only 3. It's possible to give quantity and quality at the same time.
