They give nothing but actionable advice. Stuff that a lot of people should be taught but aren't. The funny thing is, nothing they say is unrealistic. Work Politics, Game, Education, Sector overviews, Health.

This is a *hobby* blog created in 2012 and run solely by front office Wall Street professionals (Investment Banking, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Sales & Trading, Equity Research and Venture Capital). Minimum criteria for posting on this blog: 5+ years of Wall Street Experience, $1M+ net worth.

This blog is not run by people who are looking to get into Wall Street. Not by people who think they know about Wall Street… But people who actually work on the Street. We created this blog because most people who give life advice do not have real life experience to back it up.

No deflection.

Didn't say anything about it being easy to start a company, jump into wall street, or high-level tech. Not sure what the point of saying "it's not easy" is.

Like, "hey, want to be good at something? It's not easy kids." :mindblown: A meaningless statement.

Not saying they arent giving good points or sound tips just that the title is misleading and basically clickbait saying how *anybody* can get to a million then talking about earning a six figure income when thats already excluding a good 95% of the population
Not to mention the fact that their savings plan makes no mention of expenses taxes start up capital...
Its good to dream big but u still have to take reality into account...

This is for people with 6 figure incomes.
More bootstrap philosophy.

I need a hustle. I got a bio degree but my gpa is basura. Im going back to school in the fall but i need other source of income. Doesnt help that i cant find work. Sent my resume everywhere smh. Want to get into the wholesaling game. Im gonna attend an REIA meeting in a couple months to network with cash buyers. Im struggling butvi am not giving up. I have no other choice i need to get out the hood.

So the advice is basically to get a 6 figure job work a bunch of hours while having a side business...
Having that hustler mentality isnt bad but at some point u gotta factor in the real world...

Wonder how much money theyre making selling dreams :jbhmm:

Why are you deflecting? His lifestyle is transparent and fugazi, he was a weak example, that you put up there and are now trying to cover for.
Built, confident, and impeccably dressed won't make you a millionaire in 10 years. Being set up for, and then following through, will make you a millionaire in 10 years.
i like what you're trying to say, but its not realistic for a vast majority of the population.
I'm doing an iBanking internship this upcoming semester, and its not that easy to jump into the world of 100k jobs/careers.

Good luck with your internship bro.

I feel what yall are saying, but did you see the part where they mentioned sales jobs and being willing to work 70 hours a week? They dont say that EVERYONE can make 6 figures, they say everyone who is willing to put in ridiculous hours and perfect their skills can hit 6 figures.

I know quite a few people who worked at car dealerships. Some might put in 40 hours a week and take home 40k, others bust their ass for 70 hours a week and they make 90-120k

Perform at that level for 3 years and you will have been promoted twice. Now youre making 150+ and working like 55 hours again. Next promotion takes you to 200+

There are other sales jobs where people take home 40-50k by doing the bare minimum. They come to work at 8, they take a 1.5 hour lunch, and they leave at 4:30. Thats 7.5 hours of actual work. Other people in those positions realize that they can make a lot of money of they bust their ass, so they put in 50-60 hours of work per week and they take home upwards of 125k

I understand how people can by turned off by smug white boys who grew up with a silver spoon telling people "pull yourself up by your bootstaps, work hard, look at me. If you dont succeed you only have yourself to blame." all while ignoring all the advantages that they've had.

That doesn't mean you can't soak up game though.

You dont have to be in ny or san fran to make good money at your job. You cant do it everywhere, but its possible in a ton of big cities. If you dont wanna put in the work then yeah.....its prolly not gonna happen.

Blog is actually run by multiple Wall Street cats with a variety of backgrounds. There are at least two black contributors that I know of (they talk often about using racial dynamics to your advantage, things like wearing glasses to the office in order to appear smarter, always dressing like your worth a million, and so on).

Even the white contributors come from shytty family situations.

Stop making assumptions.

You can hit that income in 6 months or even 3.

From scratch. I'm sorry 1 mill in 10 years is not impressive.

Especially net worth.

Great read though and I will definitely be reading more of their stuff.
Exactly, 1 mil isolated isn't as much as people think.

Now 1mil a year is

I can tell you have a foolish man's thought process.

Before you can think about cashing in on success you must put your self in the position to cash in at all.

That means........................

Getting a good solid education in either Business, a STEM major or entrepreneurship through different avenues.

Developing and diversifying your skillset

Diversifying your monetary portfolio

and SAVING

You are to busy looking at the bridge 1000 miles away and not taking the little steps it takes to reach that bridge

i strongly encourage people to make the best of themseles
i believe the middle 80% (or whatever 'they' call it these days) can have a better life
but the path described in the article is not available to everyone

i grew up in poverty
i had to practice for 1000-2000 hours just to be able to switch up and talk to middle class folks
i spent yet more time learning how to charm and influence
that was "on the fly" and there were bumps along the way

not everyone has the brain to get a high end stem degree
not everyone is team oriented
not everyone has the mouth or appearance to be a high end salesman
not everyone is a bold extravert who has the energy to network efficently/effectivly

so these types of articles are a double edged sword
i encoruage peple to take a "long view" (aka a bird's eye view)
but some instinctively expect a recipe to follow

some people will say "then post a better plan"
but basically..
it starts with a stable income while living efficeintly and below your means
manipulating your environment to learn in-demand and transferrable skills
and then using your excess resources (time, money) to elevate yourself
anything more detailed has to be tailored to the individual's strengths/weaknesses

okay off my soap box for today :flabbynsick:

The bold is the main factor in making money and keeping it, even when you have a bunch of it and can get nice thing, take nice trips, THIS doesn't change.
