Philly bouls, Trust the Process
They're generally pretty damn good though, especially considering that it's a great draft. Drafts like 2001(Kwame Brown), 2006(Bargnani), and 2013(Bennett) were weak drafts in general.

Also notice the common denominator here in how every player you mentioned was a PF/C :sas2:

In the one-and-done era, we've seen 3 PGs go #1. Derrick Rose, Kyrie Irving, and John Wall. That's elite company.

Interesting...but yeah there's a premium on height obviously...I've always said that interior players take more time to develop, so in a way you don't really know what you're getting often, eve, more so when it's one and done players I guess :yeshrug:

Kobe 13,Karl malone 13, drexler 14,klay 11, kawkhi 15, butler 30,draymond 35,Paul pierce 10, tony parker- 28, dirk 9, Paul george 10,curry 7, steve nash 15, mcgrady 9, dirk 9 (i'm sure there's plenty more throughout history) proves that most scouts, GM and media are just as clueless with regards to talent judgment as most fans. I still remember how the knicks selecting Porzingis to go 4 overall sent everyone into a frenzy and look how that turned out. I won't be surprised if some random kid that goes 16 overall ends up being the star of this draft ultimately.

Infact since the 80's, you can count on one hand the amount of number one overall picks that have gone on to be superstars/elite players. I can only think of Magic, Hakeem,Ewing,Duncan, shaq, AI, Yao ming,Lebron. Jury is still out on Anthony davis and wall

So out of 37 lottery drafts since 1980, only 8 players have gone on to be elite. Unless these GM's have psychic powers, they are just gambling and speculating at the end of the day.

How many Guards that were drafted at 1 were busts?

They're usually pretty good because you have to have such a high skill level to even get in the conversation at #1 overall

Manning was an actually an All-Star and Joe Smith was a decent player who was a good scorer in the beginning before turning into a journeyman and Pervis Ellison was actually pretty good at the beginning of his career.
