So you are just going to skip past the divorce part huh? And I notice how you keep mentioning stats but don't produce any. Even when a couple is married or living together, there are still issues whether it's financial, infidelity, careers, children, etc. But in your fantasy world, I guess it works. I know what i'm saying may be idealistic.... but.... the STATS show that married people have higher household incomes on average than single people..... the STATS show married men live longer than bachelors (although that is changing)..... the STATS show that children are better off in a household where both biological parents are present....


You don't have to agree with marriage, its your life, but the STATS show its the better choice... if you care about family... children..... stability....


......I want to add one more thing.... I think in 20 years, marriage in the AA community is going to be in the low teens.........

It's one of the reason why we are poor, but it isn't the single factor that affected our wealth.

I don't see why this is so difficult for people to digest.

When my wife (at the time she was my GF) and I moved in together...we split all the bills. My rent went from being $1000 a month out of my own pocket...to 500....my light bill from 50 to 25...my cable from 100...to 50...so on and so fourth. It was almost the equivalent of DOUBLING my income.
