In the age of cheap drones, sniper rifles, etc. it’s crazy you’d still choose to go right down the middle straight heads up. Spray and not do a single ounce of confirmed damage. Pretty sure they know it’s going to be inefficient, don’t know why you’d basically send 10 people out.
You overestimate the intelligence of most people. Certainly that of criminals .

To be honest, even petty gang warfare should be done with drones these days. Far more efficient. But the combatants are too stupid to realize it

If that was to happen Cartel members busting shots at Federal agents on American soil I can see Trump trying to send troops over into Mexico. And if it was some type of protest group I can see Donald talm bout some "These Radical Looney Leftists must be stopped! YOU SHOOT WE KILL #MAGA! America is done with WOKE." -DJT on Truth Social.
I know it sounds crazy, but I'm convinced some part of the US government is profiting from the lawlessness of Mexico. There is no incentive for Trump to stop them.

We've been through this before with the '80s and official govt agencies supporting South American contras through profit from selling crack to black people. They did similar stuff in the '70s and '60s by supporting heroin production in Southeast Asia and selling it to soldiers and western degenerates.

I don't believe for a second that the sophisticated military intelligence network that is systematically eradicating enemies in the Middle East can't stop those cartels in Mexico. By comparison to Iran/Hamas/isis, those cartels are like Saturday morning cartoon villains.

What's worse is that different parts of the government don't have clearance to know the illicit activities of other parts of the government. For example, the CIA was involved in both heroine production in Southeast Asia and cocaine in Latin America but the entire DEA agency was unaware of their operation and lost several employees for no reason. a similar thing occured in the mid-2000s where the ATF was directly selling guns to cartels with operation wide receiver and operation fast and furious, but the FBI was unaware of it . And these various operations lead to federal agents dying because they don't know they were walking into an operation by another federal agency. This sounds eerily familiar to these Border enforcement agents dying today.

Cartel criminality is imbued into Mexico and is on a different than American gangs and even terrorism. Other than fent they don't have a real impact on us other than drug shyt and America doesn't have a singular view on it. Troops and drones aren't solving cartels,

TLDR
Basically it's not our problem and we buy drugs so we don't care.
