I don't think it's that people don't want characters, it's that Vince doesn't give a shyt about developing characters.

I agree though. The wrestling is good, it's just that it feels like everyone wrestles the same.
I think Sasha wrestles on a different level...Styles does too..as does Cesaro. And he improvises big time too.

Not in Big Japan breh :myman:

I don't even know where to start, there's too much piff to process there:wow:

After a while, they all just blend together. Especially when you've seen the same match-up on TV 3-4 times before they even square up on PPV.

Wrestling with no point or purpose, lack of characters is killing it all. Nothing feels like it's at stake the only people over besides Braun and Lesnar are only popular for shyt they did outside the company and the marks that cheer them give them a pass for suffering from the same shortcomings of their WWE brethren because they "Earned" the right to fight for zero stakes and have no mic skills or character besides top guy. I don't subscribe to this thinking, that's why I give AJ Styles all the credit in the world for stepping his mic game up when he didn't have to. Kayfabe has nothing to do with their social media anyone following those guys is an obsessive fan that likes to peak behind the curtain anyway. I feel that them throwing away the narrative of their feuds when they do press is damaging. You see how McGreggor and Floyd disrespected each other leading to their fight? How they had a majority of casual fans believing a MMA fighter could beat an undefeated legendary defensive boxer in his first boxing match? When people who're open minded see John Cena on Good Morning America they may be charmed but the wrestlers eventually talk people out of caring when they speak about respecting their opponent, movie careers, the general fakeness and come across too normal too much like standard entertainers rather than athletes who can give people fights that can only happen within the fixed nature of wrestling.
yeah this is the truth....I cant take Cena seriously as much when he's cutting promos hardcore on Roman, then he's a bully type guy on "Total Bellas" then he's Michael Strahan lite on "Good Morning America"

Most matches are 10 minutes, some are 20-25. You'll get caught up in less time than what you waste watching just 1 week of WWE TV breh :banderas: :ohlawd:

Blame John Cena on superstars getting bland because they wrestle every week. There's no more buildup or cool down when it comes to building feuds . I pointed the finger at Cena because none of this happened before he blew up. The WWE, concerned about there younger fan base and their paying parents , shoved him down our throats every week concerned about ratings and other wrestlers abilities to carry the show.

Now everyone is doing it every week. Yeah, I know they always did it at house shows but it's more than :deadhorse: seeing superstars renewing rivalries for the fifth time this year because they've ran out of decent opponents.

Vince thinks they're the NBA now, needing everyone perform EVERY weekend for the fans sake.

the low end. southside chi
Spike/TNN dropped ECW, which started their downward spiral to bankruptcy.

They bought WCW and killed it by not bringing in real stars and not enticing any of their fans to keep watching. And that's just two companies, even if you don't count them, they did kill every single other territory in the states.
wcw was dead then vince bought it
when aol/time warrner bought turner they decided to drop wrestling

Time Warner/AOl merger killed WCW by cancelling the show and WWE was unable to make another show after buying it.

ECW wasn't profitable thus it getting dropped

So we're not gonna act like the tactics they used in the 80s didn't kill Jim Crockett Promotions in the first place or putting Smackdown on at the same time as Thunder to kill it's ratings.

Let's also not forget that they sued WCW in 1996 costing the company millions of dollars over the next 4 to 5 years.

Those are just a few things I can think of that you can blame WWF. No doubt the AOL TW merger played a factor but to just write it off the sole reason doesn't tell the whole story.

Even after the sale, WCW as a brand name still lived and by the end of the invasion, they defamed the name so much.

I might watch like 10 mins of WWE a week through streamable and YouTube and it's still way too much :scust:

NBA preseason coming in a week and the season starts in 3

Canelo/GGG tomorrow :blessed:

10. Competition is better exposed

9. To shock us, they kill us [Swerve for the sake of it]

8. b*stard fans [obnoxious live crowds]

7. The NXT expectation

6. WWE borrowing gimmicks [examples: The Club, Strong Style, hinting of Broken Matt]

5. Where's the protection?

4. All the moves in 205 live [since its workrate first and character 2nd and being put in front of casual crowds]

3. Social media [pretty much being themselves as opposed to being in character]

2. No time for matches to cool [Okada/Omega 3 great matches in 8 months compared to Usos/New Day doing the same in 3 months]

1. Injuries [because of so much wrestling on tv more than ever the in ring style has become more intense]

This is spot on.

I don't know why people complain about Brock not defending his title weekly, but him not defending it weekly not only makes him look like a champion but it also creates value for the next pay per view.

When I was a kid if I would see HHH in the ring talking I'd instantly switch to Nitro :dead:

lmaooo damn, and that was during good portions of Attitude :russ: HHH didn't become totally unbearable til 2003, but those seeds were planted way back in 99/00
