No 2015 exists.
One of the best street rap albums- DREAMS WORTH MORE THAN MONEY
Most futuristic boundary pushing album- DIRTY SPRITE 2
Apparently the best trap album- RODEO
Best female rap album- PinkPrint
Another amazing trap album- Barter 6
Best party rap album ever- Sremmlife
Best rap album in a decade- To Pimp A Butterfly

Probably a lot more amazing albums. 2015 the GOAT year

2006 was actually a terrible year OP. The Houston music wave was dying out, Lil bytch-ass Wayne was on the rise and flooding the market with his garbage, Lil Jon's production was fading out, G-Unit was starting their descent, and so many albums were being dropped to sell ringtones instead of being apart of complete albums. Chingy, Jibbs, Bow Wow, D4L, and a bunch of other garbage.

I will say that GFK, Hi-Tek, Jeezy, Lupe, and some others were dropping heat, but overall, the singles around that time were trash

:mjlol: @ 2006 being the last good yr for mainstream rap when in the decade since then the GOAT Hov dropped the 2006 AOTY (KC), 2007 AOTY (AG) which was his 5th classic & the GOAT soundtrack/concept album, the 2011 AOTY (WTT) which was the GOAT collab album & his 6th classic, the 2013 AOTY & solo album of the decade (MCHG), & countless GOATly features that were all VOTY candidates if not winners

OP is a fukking idiot

Stopped reading right there. That was a mediocre album that looked good compared to the sea of bad albums/songs around that time

in 2006, I wasn't paying attention to any of those artists you mentioned in the 1st paragraph - except wayne, who I messed wit a lil bit.

the rest of those guys didn't exist in my world unless somebody had the radio or TV on. very much avoidable. I don't even remember D4L being around in 2006. and even when they were around in '04-05, its not like anybody had their album.

edit: jay-z kingdom come? easily the worst album from a respected rapper in 2006.

1996 was the last, by and large, pure year on a mainstream level. In 97 Bad Boy killed the East and No Limit killed the South.
We all know what happened to the West :mjcry:
I'm speaking in generalities here.

You sound like one of those "Everything was perfect in the 90's" type dudes.

theres a large gap in between the '90s and 2006.

the '90s might not even be my favorite decade.

just because i said 2012-13 or whatever years dude listed were trash, it doesn't mean that I'm a '90s worshipper.

shoot, look at my avi. that's current music.

no limit blew the south up.
how they kill it?

i liked bad boy, but hated their tactics. so yea, they helped kill the east coast in the long run.
