I remember reading about it around the time Big Dough Rehab & 8 Diagrams came out. That was late 07, but i think he first mentioned it in 05.
It kept getting pushed back & finally dropped in September 09. That was one of the first albums that i bought my freshman year in college. It was a bit of a surreal feeling that the sequel finally came out. It was even crazier that it lived up to the expectations. The production & story telling is insane. Gotta bump it tonight.
Thoughts on the album, bruhs?

It dropped on September 8th. That was the last album I anticipated for real. I waited years for that record. The mixtapes, the state of grace single. I got that single twice btw.

I got the UK version with the two bonus tracks because the US version ended with kiss the ring. I play it from time to time. Raes second best album.

This is officially the fall song when the temperature starts dropping.

Suga bang bang says it all right there.

It leaked while I was at work. My shift finished at 10. I went home and sat in the dark and listened to the whole thing from front to back like :wow:

Cold Outside
Pyrex Vision
Canal Street
10 Bricks

were my shyt.

It was a while before I heard 'Walk With Me' but that was :banderas:too

The hype around this was super real for me. The Scratch Magazine story they did previewing the 06 version was :whoo:

Then there was 'Baggage Handlers' and 'State Of Grace' around the time Busta was supposed to exec produce it. :ooh:

What we ended up with was beautiful though:mjcry:

Definitely remember the anticipation of it, playing it for the first time and hearing the kung-fu samples at the end of House of Flying Daggers had me all :banderas:with feelings of 90s Wu nostalgia.

Also how dope it was that he had the number 1 album on itunes when it dropped, beating out some major mainstream artist (forget who at the time).

Even Sade said that was one of her favorite albums that year.

Fav track is hard to decide, but I lean towards We Will Rob You, House of Flying Daggers, and Sonnys Missing.

My only real beef is that most of the last few songs are unnecessary. I remember somebody suggested ending it at Catalina, kinda ending it on a down note like Nightmares on Hell Hath No Fury.

'Kiss The Ring' was a great triumphant note to end it on to me. After years of development hell, shyt felt like a sigh of relief at the end of a long journey..
